Liability Claims Handler - Stoke on Trent

Davies Group are currently looking to recruit Liability Claims Handlers into the Casualty Claims Team. The Liability Claims Handleris responsible for handling liability claims on behalf of various insurers and to provide a quality claims service on behalf of the insure,handlingclaims from the cradle to the grave. As a Liability Claims Handler, you willensure claims are handled on a proactive basis in accordance with the insurers claims handling philosophy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To establish if cover is in place for the claim.
  • To record all claims on the digital claims handling system.
  • To investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters.
  • To make the decision on liability.
  • To negotiate settlement of the claim.
  • To ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLA’s.
  • To build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market.
  • Knowledge of how to value an injury claim.
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies.
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.

Position Summary

The role is to support the Customer Journey on Executive Adjusting claims, from the booking of first visit for the Adjuster, to the proactive handling of the claim, through to settlement

Job Scope

Supporting the delivery of field loss adjusting services on Commercial, Domestic and HNW losses with handling limits for a specific client up to £100K

Functional Knowledge

  • Prime operating system

General Background, Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • Progression towards Dip CILA
  • Progress towards completion of ACILA
  • Hold drying Cert – BDMA / Dewpoint – or similar internal course

Key Responsibilities

  • Booking of smart appointments for Adjusters including gathering of all relevant information to aid the adjuster on site
  • Agreeing to suitable mitigation on losses at FNOL as required (ensuring where appropriate this is “without prejudice” where liability has not been established
  • Appointment of approved suppliers
  • Use of Management tools to drive performance / ensure key SLA’s for suppliers are adhered too
  • Ensure compliance with “Active Drying” using project management Gant Charts to track & update
  • Customers to be at the front of all activity including policyholders, Brokers & all other key stakeholders & ensuring they are communicated at key events / changes at all times
  • Take control of AA claims including reducing claims lifecycles through pro-active management of suppliers / reduce AA costs
  • Robust Challenge of building scopes & variations – record all challenges on the system
  • Manage own case load to ensure key SLA’s / proactivity and fee targets are completed

Key Responsibilities:
