Purpose:
The Collection Adjuster 1 is responsible for managing delinquency to acceptable levels in accordance with established Departmental goals and objectives, and with adherence to all policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations. This position will work with customers in providing financial counseling and to implement structured repayment plans to bring the borrower’s loan status to current and to encourage a future banking relationship.

Essential Functions: The major duties of the job that constitute the fundamental tasks and or responsibilities of the position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
1. Initiate an average of approximately 100 outbound calls daily on assigned past due accounts to determine the reason(s) for delinquency and negotiate the collection of past due amounts
2. Obtain all updated customer contact information to ensure accurate records including the usage of skip tracing techniques and web based applications
3. Document all conversations and collection activity
4. Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws and regulations and Investor servicing guidelines
5. Identify potential loss situations by analyzing customer financial data to determine the cost effectiveness in recommending repossession, foreclosure, or litigation; Alert Management to suspect customer activity and potential fraud situations
6. Demonstrates the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers and associates; Incorporates the high performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example and service in every facet of work
