Liability Claims Handler - Stoke on Trent

Davies Group are currently looking to recruit Liability Claims Handlers into the Casualty Claims Team. The Liability Claims Handleris responsible for handling liability claims on behalf of various insurers and to provide a quality claims service on behalf of the insure,handlingclaims from the cradle to the grave. As a Liability Claims Handler, you willensure claims are handled on a proactive basis in accordance with the insurers claims handling philosophy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To establish if cover is in place for the claim.
  • To record all claims on the digital claims handling system.
  • To investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters.
  • To make the decision on liability.
  • To negotiate settlement of the claim.
  • To ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLA’s.
  • To build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market.
  • Knowledge of how to value an injury claim.
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies.
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.

Skills & Experience:

  • Good communications skills at all levels.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • To take responsibility for your own workload.
  • Must be able demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills

• The role will encompass Adjuster field operations usually within a designated area.

Assistant Team Leader - Stoke on Trent

Davies Group are looking for an Assistant Team Leader to provide full support toour Field/Adjusting proposition. As an Assistant Team Leader you will buildclose working relationships with Adjusters, key clients & suppliers. The Assistant Team Leader is responsiblefor providing a first class customer experience through proactive claims management.

Assisting the Operations Manager and Team Leader in developing the skills and abilities of FAST. Providing coaching and mentoring to team members and assisting the continuous development of FAST processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of internal processes within the Team ensuring these are challenged and updated where appropriate with agreement from the management team.

• Managing outstanding caseloads for adjusters, ensuring appropriate claim progression and manage own WIP allocation as required.

• Responsible for appropriate supplier management and escalations where required.

• Ensure the accuracy of information recorded in the database across multiple systems.

• Support the management team in achieving service standards, company and contractual requirements.

• Compose proficient letters and short format Adjuster reports and support the wider team in their development in this area.

• Provide high quality and professional assistance when dealing with telephone calls, correspondence and internal support.

• Assist with undertaking claims and call audits on a weekly/monthly basis.

• Handle verbal and written complaints in line with Davies Group and Client Complaint Handling Guidelines.

• Keep up to date with client philosophies, processes and ensure revenue generation is maximised. Where appropriate working with the management team to update and amend processes and philosophies and communicate these within the team.

• Adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform additional tasks as may be required.

• The job holder will have responsibility for providing essential support and contribution to loss and damage mitigation, providing essential business recovery services following  major incidents
• working in either the SME or large loss area within MCL

•Advising the adjusting team on appropriate mitigation works and associated costs
•Checking and reporting on plant and machinery values at risk

•Valuations and validation of contractors proposed scope of damage and required work, machinery, plant and equipment and insureds contents and advise the adjusting team accordingly
•Validation of suppliers and contractors invoices and advise the adjusting team accordingly
•Preparation of appropriate reports and other documents for provision to insurers or  other involved parties
•Give dedicated support to the adjusting team with assessments of conditions and damage following fire, flooding or any other insurable event. This may include surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists, and other experts as appropriate as part of a matrix claims team
