Position Summary:
This position involves business analysis, development of specifications, programming, test plan development and implementation, reading and understanding insurance documents, and user support related to web-based property and casualty applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for spearheading projects consisting of adding or modifying functionality; changing rates and rating methodology; implementing new products and/or markets; and preparing standard and custom reports.
Responsibilities include developing requirements, specificationsand programming changes; working with third party vendors on systems integrations; designing testing schema, as well as coordinating and/or conducting testing.
The goal of the selected candidate is to quickly become acquainted with current applications to facilitate rapid, effective growth into new markets and lines of business as well as supporting growth and stability in existing markets. As such, strong knowledge of and experience in the property and casualty insurance business is a priority.

Role Description - Software Application Engineer:
This position will be an addition to the existing Low Voltage Integration team for the UPHS Pavilion project. The team works out of 3600 Civic Center Blvd in an integration lab, which is set up to mirror the final on-site configurations of the technology which will be implemented for the project. Although the immediate duties will be conducted in the off-site lab, on-site presence will also be required for coordination, startup, and validation.
The candidate should be experienced with Building Management Systems - mainly relating to integration programming and database management/configurations. The expectation is that the candidate will be able to lead the integration initiatives for lighting and HL7 for the UPHS Pavilion project.
This position will require expertise in logical decision making and problem solving in a high paced environment. The candidate shall be capable of documenting the technical activities that they are performing and have the capability of communicating status reports to individuals with unsimilar technical skillsets.
