Your mission

 

In this role, your mission will be to provide highly competitive CAD/EDA solutions for very diverse and innovative ultra-low-power CMOS IC/ASIC designs.

 

Your main tasks will be the following:

 

- EDA tools (Digital Front-End & Back-End, Analog/RF, Mixed-Signal): evaluation, installation, customization, update, support & technology watch.

- Entire design environment: tools, PDKs, external IP, internal IP and libraries

- Project setup and design database management

- Backup for CAD Manager

Your profile :

 

To be successful in this function, you are expected to have a Bachelor/Master degree and at least 3 to 5 years of CAD related experience within a Digital Front-End and Back-End or Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design environment.

 

Required skills and experience :

 

- A solid understanding of the full design flow from schematic to tape-out.

- EDA Digital, Analog/RF & Mixed-Signal tools such as Cadence & Mentor Good digital IC working knowledge of RTL to GDSII design flows (Cadence based)

- Mixed-Signal Circuit Design validation

- SKILL programming and scripting languages Perl/TCL/csh/bash/Python/etc)

- Definition of the design database structure & administration of revision control systems (SVN, GIT, Cadence version control tools, etc.)

- PDK installation and maintenance

- Integration and control of external IP into design database

- Good knowledge of Linux

 

Curious, autonomous and hands-on, you are motivated in playing a key role in the development of innovative solutions and demonstrate the ability to multi-task, work in a structured and organized way, and adapt to new situations. Roles/Responsibilities
Join Capita as a Microstation CAD Technician responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects within the Rail Engineering Sector. Projects will range from a number of smaller projects to large multi-million pound projects. You will be working in multi-disciplinary teams, some of your roles and responsibilities will include:
• The production of engineering CAD deliverables using various CAD based tools, predominantly Bentley and Autodesk products.
• Can produce with support CAD based deliverables with the correct level of detail for the required stage of design. This could be feasibility through to detailed design.
• Can competently structure CAD designs.
• Can comply with varying CAD standards ensuring all deliverables are compliant.
• Has experience of using Data Management Systems and can comply with the system standards.
• Has some experience of multi-disciplinary design coordination using CAD tools and with support can integrate other designs into their own
• Liaise with colleagues, other departments and project teams with respect to drawing requirements
• Provide the Project Engineering Team with CAD & Design support throughout the project.
• Ensure that drawings are prepared, stored, issued and archived in accordance with company procedures
• Ensure that chargeable work can be evaluated by the preparation of adequate records of time spent
• Train other staff members on the use of Microstation by means of individual coaching group training courses as appropriate
• Assist, when required, with storage, filing and archiving of documents

  • Able to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budget targets.
  • Ability to respond to Project Manager and Client requests and meet challenging deadlines.
