TheDirector, Operational Excellencewill be responsible for deployment, facilitation, training, and driving business results through the Rheem Production System (RPS) continuous improvement methods for the Global Air Business. Manage Air RPS continuous improvement projects as well as follow-up to ensure progress, continuity, and sustainability of the continuous improvement efforts. Lead and implement vision for RPS future state for the Air Business.


This position will serve our Air Division, located inFort Smith, Arkansas.


WHAT YOUrsquo;LL DO:

  • Establish and document the RPS system
  • Coach, train, & mentor others on the RPS system
  • Drive business improvements through RPS activities across the global Air business
  • Oversee and direct any TPS consultant involvement in the Air business
  • Develop the Air RPS Team
  • Establish the strategic plan to deploy and implement RPS methodologies that are aimed at continuously improving operational, quality and safety processes while eliminating non-value added processes to reduce cost
  • Conduct Kaizen events, RPS training, and develop team members to lead Kaizen events and training
  • Maintain RPS project schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and most importantly, provide documentation that demonstrates the direct link between RPS implementation and direct process improvement and plant operations
  • Interface with plant engineering on projects addressing staffing, manpower, time and capacity issues.
  • Manage departmental budget
  • Drive standardized work implementation and/or improvements
  • Other duties, as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or related field
  • 8+ years experience in a lean manufacturing environment with a record of proven accomplishments
  • 8+ years experience in a management role
  • 8+ years experience utilizing skills in Materials, Production Control, or related field
  • Must have experience in identifying areas of improvement, planning for and leading Kaizen events.
  • Superior planning, decision-making, use of staff services & self-motivation
  • A solid understanding of all lean tools including standardized work, 5S, operator balance charting, pull systems, TPM and change management skills also preferred
  • Must possess good judgement, planning and analytical skills, with the ability to engage team members to support significant shop floor changes.
  • Strong communicative skills (speaking, writing, & listening) with the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups, directors or top management
  • Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Must be a team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Proficient in computer skills (MS office, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Must be self-motivated requiring little to no supervision
  • Knowledge of PC software applications such as spreadsheets, word processors, presentation and project management a must
  • No travel restrictions
  • A history of successful work experience and dependable attendance
