You will carry out high quality work to construct heavy commercial vehicle bodies, following written job card/estimate instructions as well as:

• Adhere to quality standards and specifications
• Meeting and Improving on agreed deadlines and timescales, keeping management informed 
• Working with care, following our Health and Safety Standards and Procedures. 
• Working well within the Bodyshop team

To be successful within this role you must have:

• The ability to use power tools correctly and safely - as well as an ability to understand specs and drawings
• Ability to build to a good standard
• Strong communications skills 
• A good team player mentality
• The ability to work well under pressure

Experience in fitting tail lifts is desirable but not essential as training will be offered to the right candidate.

Mackworth Vehicle Solutions are currently looking for a Commercial Vehicle Body Builder to join them in their busy, fast paced Bodyshop.

Are you experienced in fabricating, welding and installing components and assemblies to a wide range of commercial vehicles, to assembly drawing specifications, in a safe and economical manner? Manufacturing and assembling parts from drawings and schematic layouts, whilst working to deadlines?

Here at Mackworth Vehicle solutions our Commercial Vehicle Body builders undertake all areas of vehicle build and construction on a wide range of vehicle types. Installing and commissioning various parts and components and working with different materials, hand tools and power tools, during vehicle construction.  

The main responsibilities for this exciting new role involve:

• Constructing Commercial Vehicle bodies, as per drawings and specifications provided using hand tools and power tools.
• Interpreting drawings and schematic layouts to enable fabrication assemblies from drawings.
• Measuring and cutting materials to the correct specifications.
• Installing electrical wiring, and other equipment according to specified procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, safe immediate working environment at all times, through good housekeeping.

The successful candidate for this role will have:

• Minimum 5 years experience working in a similar role and environment.
• A recognised Welding qualification.
• A good eye for detail.
• An ability to work well on their own initiative whilst also being a  productive, contributing team member.
• A positive attitude with a friendly and flexible approach.
• A good understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
