Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1. Processes benefit enrollment forms (45%)
- Process benefit enrollment forms for medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, LTD, flexible spending, and voluntary benefit programs.
- Verify eligibility and appropriate documentation is provided when necessary and follow up with employee when forms or documentation is incomplete.
- Process benefit enrollment forms during open enrollment.
- Process benefit enrollment into appropriate systems, including new elections, changes, and terminations for covered dependents.
2. Communicate benefit plans to employees (20%)
- Present new employee benefits presentation at the house-wide employee orientation.
- Act as liaison for employee with benefit questions or issues. Refer employee, when appropriate, to insurance company, third party administrator, or other appropriate resource.
3. Processes all terminations of benefit coverage (10%)
- Process terminations into appropriate systems
- Send continuation of coverage
4. Correspond with employees regarding benefits (10%)
- Send letters to employees notifying them of benefit eligibility
- Send letters to employees notifying them of their continuation options
5. Process continuation payments (10%)
- Process continuation payments in a timely manner
- Follow up on past due payments
- Terminate continuation coverage in a timely manner
6. Process benefit enrollment verifications / enrollments for Missouri Department of Social Services Child Support Orders (3%)
7. Performs other work duties as assigned (2%)

High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field preferred.
Minimum of one-year human resources or benefits experience required, preferably in healthcare. Must exhibit customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction through professionalism, timeliness, and accuracy, exhibit professional and courteous verbal and written communication skills to facilitate day-to-day job responsibilities, the ability to establish and meet deadlines, the ability to maintain confidential information, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with all aspects of job responsibilities.
