Role overview

Introduction to the role:

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our IT Transformation team.

We work primarily with off the shelf solutions configured to meet our business requirements.

Projects range from smaller solutions such as room booking systems to major software projects that span the entire business such as finance system upgrades.

Introduction to the team:

As part of the Delivery and Change department in the firm, you will be part of a large team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Testers within the PMO. Within the firm wide PMO, you will bring to the team your experience and ability to roll up your sleeves and assist with an exciting change within the business. The team delivers all projects across the firm and is a well-respected part of our business model. We have high standards for work but we also have fun while we’re doing it and work as a team fully supporting each other.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysis - current processes / working with the business in different workstreams
  • Documentation – of current processes, new processes, agreed decisions etc
  • Testing – design of tests / execution of system testing of new and existing systems
  • Training – assistance with training materials and plans etc

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • Demonstrate experience of business analysis practices and documentation including analysis and investigation
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Previous project or program experience
  • Experience of process mapping and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Previous involvement  in complex data migrations
  • Able to demonstrate experience in stakeholder management in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Ability to understand and respond to user needs in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when liaising with stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of the legal sector

• early morning meeting/stand up with partners and the team to report on progress from yesterday
• meeting with them to refine a product backlog before finalising requirements documentation

As a consultant, roles and responsibilities can vary by project scope, project team composition and client needs.
Analysis and Solution Definition (50%)
• Elicit and document business requirements within well-defined business processes by organizing and conducting requirement workshops
• Create Functional Design based on business requirements which is easily understandable by developers
• Act as a bridge between business and tech team to manage expectations and resolve issues
• Analyse AS-IS processes and Define TO-BE processes while working with right business stakeholders
• Support and provide inputs to business stakeholders and project team to draft implementation plan for build phase and more
Project Execution (40%)
• Develop functional scenario based test scripts; develop test data in support of User Acceptance Testing
• Interface with development team to provide necessary clarifications during the development
• Help coordinate activities between technical staff, system users, end user organizations, software programmers, system administrators, and managers. Work with technical teams.
Business Development (10%)
• Determine and translate customer needs into an Avanade solution and approach
• Contribute to proposal development
• Deliver quality written presentations
• Provide scope, approach, and estimating input to the proposal team

Role overview

Introduction to the role:

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our IT Transformation team.

We work primarily with off the shelf solutions configured to meet our business requirements.

Projects range from smaller solutions such as room booking systems to major software projects that span the entire business such as finance system upgrades.

Introduction to the team:

As part of the Delivery and Change department in the firm, you will be part of a large team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Testers within the PMO. Within the firm wide PMO, you will bring to the team your experience and ability to roll up your sleeves and assist with an exciting change within the business. The team delivers all projects across the firm and is a well-respected part of our business model. We have high standards for work but we also have fun while we’re doing it and work as a team fully supporting each other.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysis - current processes / working with the business in different workstreams
  • Documentation – of current processes, new processes, agreed decisions etc
  • Testing – design of tests / execution of system testing of new and existing systems
  • Training – assistance with training materials and plans etc

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • Demonstrate experience of business analysis practices and documentation including analysis and investigation
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Previous project or program experience
  • Experience of process mapping and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Previous involvement  in complex data migrations
  • Able to demonstrate experience in stakeholder management in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Ability to understand and respond to user needs in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when liaising with stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the legal sector
  • Upgrade projects (systems & technical infrastructure)
  • Working in an environment of a lot of system integrations
