CAREGivers & Care Companions, Chichester, West Sussex

Social Care Jobs Team

West Sussex, Southern

West Sussex, Southern
£10 - £19 Per Hour
£10 - £19 Per Hour
  • You must hold a full driving licence and access a vehicle.
  • There will be elements of light personal care during most visits
  • You must commit to regular hours of work and have some flexibility.
We are looking for part-time CAREGivers & Care Companions to visit vulnerable older adults in the Chichester, The Witterings & Bognor Regis areas of West Sussex. This job involves visiting vulnerable people in the local community, so you must hold a full driving licence and access a vehicle.
This CAREGivers & Care Companions job is the same as a Care Assistant job. It is permanent employment, and you must commit to regular hours of work and have some flexibility. There will also be elements of light personal care during most visits.
Pay Rates & Hours & Benefits
  • £10.00 - £17.23 per hour, depending on the day/hours worked and experience.
  • Bank Holiday pay £15.12 - £18.96 per hour, depending on the level of care you provide.
  • Paid mileage allowance & paid travel/waiting time.
  • Refer a friend bonus.
My mother has dementia and sometimes when I call, she says that she feels frightened, confused, lonely and her appearance isn’t what it used to be. I live in Scotland and with work commitments and travel restrictions I can’t visit as much as they would like to and there are no other family members close by.
After carrying out research on the web I discovered this award-winning company that has received “Outstanding” by the CQC and they are ranked first by an independent customer reviews homecare site. They provide a non-medical, relationship led care and companionship service to mainly older vulnerable adults in their own home. They understand that everyone is different, so they offer care packages tailored to an individual’s needs. They provide a minimum of 1-hour visits, so the CAREGivers never feel rushed.
After completing an assessment of my mother’s needs, they came up with an individual care package to support my mother with various daily tasks and personal care for an hour or so a few times a week. They carefully matched a team of Caregivers with my mother and introduced them to my mother.
Claire is one of the care team who supports my mother to get out of bed in the morning and run her a shower to the right temperature. My mother can bathe herself, but she needs a little support to undress and get into the shower. She also needs reassurance that someone is not too far away if she struggles to get out of the shower. She also has some help to dry her back, help her get dressed, and brush her hair.
Claire makes her a cup of tea and some breakfast, gets her medication ready, and reminds her to take it, Claire runs the vacuum cleaner around and does a little dusting. There is nothing worse than looking at those cobwebs you can’t reach.
My mother understands that Claire can’t stay all day with her because she has other people to visit. However, she does look forward to Claire’s next visit.
I am impressed with the warmth and empathy all the Caregivers show my mother. They have only been supporting her for a few weeks, but I can already see how my mother is benefiting from the continuity of care which she receives.
If you are interested in this CAREGiver & Companion in & Chichester and surrounding areas of West Sussex role, please click on “Apply” and upload your CV. We will process your application and contact you to discuss the next step.
