Become part of Silgan’s “blue chip” infrastructure team and serve as a subject matter expert on the company’s systems infrastructure. Responsible for the evaluation, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a variety of hardware and software solutions of the information technology (IT) systems across multiple environments, nationally and globally.

What you’ll do:

• Implement servers, virtual machines, applications, and system appliances
• Microsoft Windows Active Directory management
• Evaluate technology needs and make recommendations consistent with IT standards
• Take part in the design, architecture, implementation, and support of technology projects
• Monitor and maintain critical IT systems
• Provide support for servers, PCs, peripherals, system appliances, OS and application software
• Provide administration for access, permissions, and file system integrity
• Manage patching solutions supporting the OS and software applications
• Support server data backup processes, both hardware, and software
• Assist with the management of computer virus protection
• Work with IT management and plant staff to define and implement projects
• Interact with vendors and consultants

• Document new and existing technologies and assist with training and instruction

• Weekly 24 hours on-call support
• Travel for remote support

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computers, or related experience with a focus systems infrastructure
• 4+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting a variety of server hardware and software platforms, PC hardware and software support, general networking, Windows Server platforms (2008 R2 through 2019), and VMware
• Good knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, PowerShell, security architecture, databases, and applications
• Advanced knowledge of computer security and networking, a good understanding of the OSI model, TCP\UPD, and TCP Ports
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
• MCSA\MSCE certification preferred
