Position Responsibilities:
1. Support quality processes with the objective of reducing the cost of poor quality to Ametek and its customers through the application of root cause analysis for the development and implementation of corrective actions to address nonconformance issues.
2. Develop understanding of process routing and assign process flow paths to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements for product.
3. Demonstrate ability to assess and initiate opportunities for improving yield, reducing costs, and improving workflow
4. Support the operations within the metallurgical lab and quality inspectors based on operational and customer needs.
5. Must be able to perform product specification and sales review to determine capabilities for meeting requirements of customer.
6. Individual must understand metallography and mechanical testing equipment.
Position Requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Metallurgy or Materials Science.
2. Preferably 3- 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. Cold rolling of specialty metals a plus. Recent engineering graduates will be considered.
3. Must have demonstrated skills with PC office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
4. Ability to travel to visit customers on an as needed basis.

Job Description
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to develop beautiful, reliable, economical, and sustainable packaging solutions for children's toys and products that promote early stage development
- Coordinate with Operations and Product Development teams early and often to ensure economical and cost-effective packaging configurations, palletization, and container loading
- Evaluate new and existing product designs to improve packaging aesthetics and performance
- Own the end-to-end packaging solution process that can safely and successfully transport finished products from the factory floor to the end customer's point of delivery
- Create packaging designs relative to strict safety, regulatory and performance requirements
- Create packaging specifications using CAD software and manage file storage systems to maintain version control
- Coordinate with Operations, Regulatory and Graphic Design departments to implement regulatory labelling and facilitate precise product traceability
- Collaborate with Graphic Design team to develop both direct-to-consumer and retail packaging
- Prepare technical packaging drawings and documentation for manufacturing

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years experience in Packaging Design, Engineering, or related field
- 500+ hours CAD experience in 2D/2.5D/3D packaging design software
- Experience with environmentally sustainable packaging materials including cardboard, paperboard, molded paper pulp, recyclable plastics, and other compostable materials
- Photo-realistic rendering capabilities to communicate ideas to a non-technical audience
- Excellent aesthetic skills with strong ability to visualize packaging arrangements in 3D
- Proven ability to build physical packaging prototypes at various development levels, ranging from proof of concept to photo-quality samples
- Advanced knowledge of packaging manufacturing methods, including die cutting, laser cutting, and molding
