About this Role:

I have a requirment for Freelance Site Engineer's that will be responsible for the setting out works on an upcoming commerical procjet in Taunton and Bath. You will be working with a national tier 1 main contractor and must be able to cover both sites however not on the same day. Will most likely be split into half the week on one site and half on the other.

RC Frame experience is a must.

Must have own setting out instrument.

You will be working with a successful contractors with offices across the UK. The businesses specialise in the schemes they carry out - operating for over 50 years'. Having built strong relationship with a variety of clients, they have secured ongoing work as part of a framework as well as delivering schemes up to £25 million.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Preferably but not essential HNC Civil Engineering qualified with up to 5 years' site experience. You will have excellent people management skills and the drive to ensure the project is completed within budget and on time. With the desire to improve and develop you will be offered the opportunity to progress.

Experience in the relevant sectors

Competent in setting out.

Good word and excel skills.

Competent with CAD.

CSCS card.

Ideally SMSTS

Health and Safety management.

Site supervision.

Liaise with client and sub-contractors.

The civil work design is made on TEKLA, and used as a deliverable directly for construction activities for different tasks.

  • Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes,
  • Maintaining client’s QA procedures in delivering the CW design,
  • Working and reviewing with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models modified,
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures,
  • Liaising with colleagues in Paris or Bristol

Key relationships:

An experienced Steelwork Engineer is required to support the steelworks (SW) pilot in the delivery of the SW programme. As part of a team, the Steelwork Engineer will be responsible for preparing and delivering the documentation required to design and substantiate the secondary steel platforms. 

Main activities:
As part of the steelwork (SW) team, the engineer will assist in: 
  • Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes,
  • Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design,
  •  Maintaining the client’s QA procedures in delivering the SW design,
  •  Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models,
  •  Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures,
  •  Liaising with colleagues in the company.
