Our UK Water Design & Engineering team is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We work with a number of clients including Local Authorities, Canal & River Trust, Natural Resource Wales and Environment Agency
We are also a key provider of technical services to construction contractors and private developers working in the water sector. We provide our design and consultancy services to these clients and partners through our network of offices across the UK and being co-located in client and partner offices.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams on engineering infrastructure projects. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Water Management and wants to help to solve some of most challenging problems faced by built/rural areas across the UK e.g. flooding, sustainable drainage, climate change, etc.

Your responsibilities will include

• Liaison with clients to understand their specific requirements
• Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
• Preparation of detailed design packages for small project or components on larger projects.
• Liaise with civil contractors, process contractors and supply chains
• Coaching to junior members of staff

Requirements

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status (i.e. CEng, IEng, MICE)
• Experience in civil design of water management projects
• Surface and road drainage design experience within the urban environment.
• Ability to deliver and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary packages of work
• Experience working for and/or with Local Authorities and third party stakeholders
• Good motivation, influencing and people management skills
• SuDS and Flood Assessments/Management

Qualifications

The VP Manufacturing Engineering leads the ME function in the Business Line and has complete responsibility for managing the whole product lifecycle from an ME perspective. They are accountable for developing, delivering, sustaining and continually improving manufacturing engineering solutions for Programs & Operations. This scope extends from process technology insertion, to Bid & Proposal, New Product Introduction and Serial Production support. The role will focus on strengthening industrial capability by leading deployment of global standards across the operating sites and Program IPTs. They are accountable for delivering NPI Programs to a Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) standard, on-time and on budget to ensure realization of the Program Business case. They are also accountable for delivering annual quality improvement through deployment of a ZDM & problem solving culture and tool suite(s).

Job Responsibilities

Accountable for technical leadership of the ME function within Operations supporting the Business Line. Complete, end-end ownership of all manufacturing engineering responsibilities across the product lifecycle
Accountable for developing and deploying global ME standardisation across operating sites and IPT team
Accountable for delivering New Product Introduction Programs to a Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) standard, on-time and to budget to guarantee Program business case is met
Accountable for delivering annual quality improvement targets, enabling year on year conversion cost reduction
Accountable for compliance to process across sites within the region including leading and driving industrialization governance standardisation and compliance across all NPI Programs in accordance with the Lifecycle Gate Process. Ensures that all aspects of new business acquisitions/proposal development are compliant with the commercial bid governance process with particular focus on summarizing/quantifying Risk to the business from a Product Quality perspective
Accountable for developing and deploying the Zero Defects Manufacturing (ZDM) mind-set and culture into the ME organisation through implementation of standard ZDM tool suite and APQP process
Responsible for pulling technology into operating sites to solve operational problems and capitalize on opportunities
Responsible for acting as the senior technical voice to the Customer / 3rd parties on escalated technical & quality issues as required
Responsible for collaborating with other members of the Global ME leadership team on sharing and adoption of best practices through the establishment of Centres of Competency
Links closely with other VP Manufacturing Engineering to ensure resources are shared and deployed to NPI & Serial Production Programs in the most appropriate and efficient manner to support the overall business

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering
8 years of leadership level experience with business processes, cost responsibility, and complex engineering technical responsibility within the aerospace industry
