Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Civil Engineer with professional licensure to join our Honolulu, HI office. Qualified candidates will have experience that includes: design and preparation of construction drawings and contract documents for civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience working in the A/E industry, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and is committed to assist with leading projects and production teams. This individual must be self-directed, dedicated, and success-focused. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the coordination and design of site development projects related to ports, harbors and Department of Defense facilities
  • Perform calculations, cost estimates, prepare drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
  • Ability to plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budget and timelines
  •  Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans
  •  Coordinate civil design staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets 
  • Ability to perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection
  • Attend client meetings as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
