A successful autism practitioner will be responsible for:
- Working effectively as part of a team of autism practitioners
- Providing 24 hours care to a vulnerable young people
- Taking service users out into the community
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Working to a flexible schedule, including night shifts, weekends and bank holidays and Christmas period
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a care setting with children or adults with autism
- Have good knowledge of autism spectrum disorder
- Have strong communication skills- Makaton, BSL and experience with picture cards desirable but not essential
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable

Glasgow Residential Stabilization Service
We aim to provide a 4 to 6 weeks residential service for individuals who are no longer managing their support within a community setting.
Our team of social care, nursing and medical staff will provide treatment and support to individuals who are deemed to be engaging in high risk drug and/or alcohol use with complex needs. Collaboratively working within a Recovery Orientated System of Care (ROSC) to address the individuals’ physical, mental, social and emotional needs. The Glasgow Drug Crisis Centre is a busy 24/7 service for drug users, combining a Methadone Clinic, Needle Exchange service and a 12 bedded Residential Unit. We are recruiting 2 Post Diagnostic Dementia Link Workers to be based in Crown House, Greenock, working as part of the multi-disciplinary Older Peoples Mental Health Team in Inverclyde.
The Dementia Link Worker provides Post Diagnostic Support for people who have received a diagnosis of Dementia. You will work with individuals and their families for a minimum of a year, providing flexible and proactive advice, information and support around aspects which will enable them to live well with Dementia for as long as possible.
Inverclyde was chosen as the implementation site for the Dementia Care Coordination project. The Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers will support developments and improvements in local service provision.
The successful applicant will have a recognised professional qualification in social care, social work, nursing, occupational therapy, community work, counselling or other related occupations to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or Nursing grade 5.
