Job Description

Pay range for this position is $16.45-$21.35.

This is an entry level position to work as a General Laborer. Core trade tasks for the General Laborer trade include (but are not limited to): production grinding, chipping, burning, oxy fuel and plasma cutting, set up of welding equipment, operating rolling stock as licensed, removal of snow and ice, and maintenance tasks. Additionally, General Laborers may be trained and assigned to work tasks of any other trade classification.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Preferred– High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred – Experience using basic hand tools and working in a construction or industrial manufacturing environment.

Required/Preferred Experience

Required – Must meet the requirements of the General Laborer physical task analysis, including (but not limited to): working inside, outside, at heights, in confined spaces, on units, on ships, and/or in buildings. Must also be able to wear a respirator and use pneumatic tools.

Lead Carpenter

We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who brings the ability to produce and manage our job sites and various trades people. We need an adaptable, personable, and proactive team leader to own this position. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to grow into a supervisory position. The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the daily execution and management of on-site operations for our projects. This is a role that is 50% production and 50% Management and where your carpentry and leadership skills will be equally vital. You will be asked to lead our production on projects, directing field personnel and maintaining good communication with the subcontractors, architects, engineers, planners, surveyors, inspectors, designers and clients in order to make sure the job is finished on time and within budget. You will also demonstrate leadership skills and will maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day trade contractor scheduling and field oversight
• Assist team with project planning and developing site logistics
• Assist with schedule and oversight of in house self-performing crew as required
  
• Work closely with Pre-construction and Project Manager team to identify and solve problems
• Reading plans or instructions, finish carpentry, framing, hanging crown moldings, installing window/door casings and baseboards, installing fixtures and hardware.
• Using hand and power tools and checking the accuracy of completed work.
• Rough framing of walls, ceilings, and roof.
• Shoring erection, repair/replace patios, decks, doors, cabinets, appliances and necessary demolition to repair.
• Direct field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule
• Ensure project is completed on schedule, within budget and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
• Coordinate and supervise all construction activities
• Ensure proper signage is posted on the job site, and safety requirements are met

Qualifications

• Must have carpentry experience (5 Years) and knowledge of remodeling
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
• Ability to read and understand Architectural plan sets (all disciplines)
• Technical understanding of residential and commercial construction including building codes, trade sequencing, and best building practices
• Ability to gather information, prepare reports and communicate
• Capable of problem solving and dealing and experience with complex detailed projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Be able to Speak English
• Be consistently on time (dependability is paramount)
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and construction specs.
• Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs by yourself
• Your own tools (complete set hand tool and basic power tools) that you bring to the job daily
• Reliable transportation
• Good communication skills (spoken, written and computer literacy skills)
• Ability to work with other (as a leader and as a follower) and your own
• Able to produce work product within an allotted schedule time frame
