We are looking for a driven QA Engineer capable of ensuring software quality within a complex IT infrastructure through the development and execution of software test plans by way of verification procedures based upon software and system specifications.

The business is growing rapidly, so you will have to ensure systems can operate at large scale and with high availability. As a QA Engineer, you should also be a forward-thinker whose techniques work consistently as the platform and user base grows.

What you will be doing as a QA Engineer:

• Build test frameworks for web apps, including related backend services and databases
• Writing bug reports and maintaining bug triage to ensure items are correctly prioritised/risk assessed
• Implementing and maintaining suitable regression tests
• Work closely with developers ensuring great feature quality
• Collaborate with the whole team and estimate features in sprint planning

What we are looking for in you as a QA Engineer:

• Continuous integration methodologies and execution using software such as Jenkins
• Working in an agile testing experience in an agile development environment
• Writing clear, concise, well-documented code that adheres to commercial standards
• Testing RESTful services
• Good to have experience using Selenium
• Good to have Coding skills in at least one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Python or Java
• Good to have experience in both automated and manual testing methods

What you will be doing

Our system is entirely hosted on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, and is built on modern .NET Core, utilising the latest .NET features. Our system is service-based, and leverages Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage, and SQL Server to ingest and process large amounts of data reliably and efficiently.

Our engineers operate in small, focused, multidisciplinary, and highly autonomous teams of around 4 to 6 people. Our teams tend to include:

• A hands-on Lead Engineer who spends time focusing on product alignment, technical alignment, and people, as well as coding.
• A QA Engineer who represents quality throughout the team and encourages critical thinking as well as supporting automation.
• Software Engineers who help with business analysis, writing tests and code, and operating the components that the team owns.
• Other specialists will sometimes join a team for certain work. If the team is planning on building a UI heavy feature, they might borrow a UI specialist for some time, for either design or some implementation. We have a team of platform engineers that also might get involved early on with a new feature, or during a scale activity, they might be a DBA or a Platform Engineer that can make sure that the team is building something they can support and run in production successfully.

All our engineers have end-to-end responsibility. They’re involved from early on in the product design process all the way through to monitoring and operation. With this responsibility comes trust. What you will be doing

You will be joining as a front-end developer in a new team responsible for the creation of an exciting new Codat product. Our product is relied on by a wide range of financial institutions, including start- up fintech lenders, major payments processors and leading high-street banks, and the brief of this new team is to produce a portal our customers can use to interact with the product quicker, without needing to complete a full integration with our API. You’ll be integrating with Codat’s best-in-class API for financial data on small businesses and building innovative front-end experiences on top of it to help our clients make sense of that data.

• A hands-on Lead Engineer who spends time focusing on product alignment, technical alignment, and people, as well as coding.

We’re looking for an experienced front-end software engineer who can take ownership of the front-end elements of this new product. We need someone who is comfortable setting up all the elements of modern, scalable SPAs from scratch, and who can guide and mentor our team to ensure it is built in the right way. The successful candidate will be working closely with our product team and customers to refine and iterate the product spec.

• A lot of the problems we solve at Codat are about standardising data from various sources, this is a different set of problems to many software businesses, and we really like engineers who enjoy working with data and puzzling out problems that may not be obviously solved. A good head for financial systems helps, but isn’t necessary.

• To monitor and follow up on all statutory requirements for the building, ensuring all certificates are up to date and filed within the designated Building Log Books within the department.
• To take responsibility for the effective repair of defects and the safe and efficient operation of the building, plant and equipment.
• To provide exceptional customer service to residents and colleagues.
• To learn & use Building Link as a working tool to aid efficiency for reactive help desk requests and provide appropriate feedback on activities undertaken and status.
• To learn & use the CAFM system, receive task sheets and work requests and complete such works efficiently in accordance with the agreed specification and within the designated service level agreements.
• To provide feedback to the TSM on the various software platforms in use based on activities in the field e.g. improvements to H&S, plant and equipment status and condition, incomplete asset information, suggestions for improving the maintenance tasks, energy efficiency initiatives, etc.
• To maintain and operate the building plant & systems (including but not limited to boilers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, fans, electrical distribution, pipework, ductwork and associated components & garage plant) within the established guidelines.
• To interrogate the Building Management System (BMS) for alarm conditions, incorrect operation, time scheduling, set points, etc. and respond accordingly.
• To inspect all plant machinery regularly throughout the shift and to accurately complete the engineering logs and worksheets for record purposes and to brief the incoming engineering team of any known faults or problems.
• To ensure that in the event of a lift failure, any trapped passengers are evacuated as per lift contractor instructions and that lift contractors are informed of any service requirements.
• To carry the required communication equipment, answer and respond promptly and to report back to the originator with status of repair.
• To carry out the designated procedures if a fire alarm is raised. To ensure that the sprinkler system & Emergency Generator is operating if required. Isolate systems as required by duty manager, or London Fire Brigade. To undergo any training deemed necessary.
• To assist other personnel in emergencies and in carrying out other engineering duties as may be required by the Technical Services Manager according to the needs of the department.
• Report all potential hazards whilst on duty.

• 5 + years of experience of working as an Engineer with a suitable electrical or mechanical qualification
