Job Description

As part of the Application Support team your role will be to support our customer base by delivering enhancements, upgrades, and other services related to their DeltaV DCS/SIS which ensure the operational and maintenance needs of our customers are met or exceeded.


You will become part of our team, within the Automation Solutions division, which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve reliability and boost performance of their DeltaV systems.


We typically engage with the latest technologies and products within the DeltaV portfolio, with a focus on system upgrades and Cybersecurity enhancements through add-ons such as Backup & Recovery, System Health Monitoring, Patch Management and Endpoint Security deployments.


This role would suit a person having had some exposure to industry and control systems, but now wants to expand their technical capabilities and ownership of activities. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Product Knowledge ndash; have a working knowledge of DeltaV DCS including configuration/graphics and setup, the Windows platform on which it is deployed and its associated PlantWeb technologies such as Backup and Recovery, Automated Patch Management, etc.
  • Project Execution ndash; be responsible for managing and delivering solutions for our customers, including requirements, quotation, engineering, commissioning, and ongoing site support
  • Customer Support ndash; assist customers in the resolution of Emerson product service and application issues, where necessary initiate and coordinate support from the Emerson Global Support Centre
  • Sales Support ndash; assist in the demonstration of Emerson products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service:
    • Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist in their pursuit
    • Assist in preparation of support literature for Sales opportunities
  • Field Service ndash; assist with LTSA contract activities (Maintenance, DVSAS, health checks, etc.), available to join the On Call rota
  • Working Environment ndash; be flexible to work throughout the British Isles, offshore or abroad and occasionally work unsociable hours including weekends to support customers
  • Technical Consultation ndash; provide technical consultation and site engineering services for our installed customer base, assisting in optimizing their control and instrumentation systems and utilizing the full functionality of their Emerson product
  • Safety Systems ndash; carry out work on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:


Required

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage own time

Preferred

  • HNC/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – COVENTRY

  • Site maintenance.

Job purpose

To provide an efficient, friendly, helpful and enthusiastic presence at The Mill, Falcon Street, Loughborough and to ensure that the building and site are safe, clean, well-maintained and secure for the benefit of all residents.

Job summary

To carry out basic cleaning, rubbish removal and maintenance; address health and safety hazards; undertake regular checks and procedures relating to the boilers, water supply, electricity meters, lifts and fire alarm systems; ensure site security (including vehicle parking); oversee the presence of on-site contractors and official visitors; and provide general assistance and handyperson services.

Duties

On a daily basis:

  1. Check internal common areas for cleanliness, failed lighting, slip, trip and other hazards. Take corrective action (e.g. change light bulbs) and produce risk assessments for managing agent if appropriate.

 

  1. Routinely clean the internal communal areas including the gym, disabled toilet and office rooms as per the cleaning specification on a daily basis to ensure each area is cleaned within one week.

 

  1. Check all waste drains, down rights and overflows for blockages and leaks. Take emergency corrective action where matter is urgent, but report matters to managing agent for assistance where required.

 

  1. Check external areas, especially pavements & roadways, for litter, weeds and leaves and general cleanliness and tidiness. Take corrective action (e.g. sweeping) and produce risk assessments for managing agent if appropriate.

 

  1. Check external areas for safety issues such as slip & trip hazards and failed lighting. Take corrective action (e.g. change light bulbs) and produce risk assessments, if appropriate. In autumn, leaves should be cleared from paths and roadways and, when there is ice or snow, salt/grit should be put down first thing in the morning.

 

  1. Visually check roof areas for blocked gutters, pooling rainwater, blocked hoppers, loose coping stones and report matter to managing agent if appropriate.

 

  1. Maintain the boiler room log, making the necessary entries for pressure and temperature readings.

 

  1. Establish contact with all contractors on site; ensure that their presence is recorded in the contractors’ log; ensure that their vehicles are parked appropriately; ensure that they are aware of policy and guidelines in relation to access, working times, noise and cleaning up, covering smoke detectors and erecting appropriate safety barriers to protect residents.

 

  1. Ensure the security of the site. Maintain a highly visible onsite presence. Check the operation of all main entrance doors. Politely challenge visitors and ensure that vehicles are not parked inappropriately.  Escort unauthorised visitors from the site.

 

  1. Provide routine inspection services to sublet flats as instructed to ensure they are being maintained to an acceptable standard and carry out basic repairs and report other issues to the letting agent in the prescribed format.

On a routine and regular basis

  1. Check all gutters, rainwater hopper heads and drains for debris and blockages and clear where accessible with reference to H&S issues. Report to Managing Agent if works need Access Equipment and should therefore be carried out by an external contractor.

 

  1. Assist the managing agent to undertake the weekly fire alarm test procedures, clean smoke detectors and check batteries.

 

  1. Undertake the weekly checking of lifts, lift locks and lift alarms.

 

  1. Check all Gym equipment on a weekly basis.

 

  1. Undertake the monthly emergency lighting test procedures.

 

As required

  1. Take in parcels and notify residents.

 

  1. Monitor and provide assistance to contractors visiting the site in line with company policy.

 

  1. Cone off parking space for large removals and delivery vehicles and for other purposes as advised.

 

  1. Remove moss and other vegetation from paths and roadways.

 

  1. Undertake internal and external common parts remedial painting & decorating jobs.

 

  1. Assist, as required, with inspections by lift engineers, insurance inspectors and meter readers, particularly by arranging access and vehicle parking.

 

  1. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as requested by ‘Accountable

  • Collect materials from suppliers (private fuel reimbursed at HMRC rate)

This successful manufacturing company are looking to hire a qualified electro/mechanical service engineer to work on HVAC equipment.

You will be responsible for visiting clients on site to service and repair booster sets, Pressurisation units, Circulation pumps, Expansion vessels & Inverter drives.

  • Undertake all allocated HVAC reactive and planned maintenance tasks to a high standard
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Achieve customer satisfaction

Most appointments will be midlands based, but you will be expected to travel to other parts of the UK when required.

About you:

The successful candidate will ideally live within a 30-mile radius of the workshop in Leicester city centre, have worked in a similar job role and be conversant with heating and chilled water systems and their operation.  You will have: 

  • NVQ or City and Guilds in an HVAC-related field or equivalent 
  • Maintenance / PPM background in maintenance 
  • Health and safety training 
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Great communication skills and experienced in dealing with customers

We need an Electrical Design Engineer to bring us the in-house Electrical skills for motor controls that we don’t currently have – are you that Electrical Design Engineer?

Our design engineering team will be five in total. Made up of 4 experienced Design Engineers - including the Design Manger, who joined us a Design Engineer and was promoted within. You’ll also be supported by a Design Administrator. From a design and project point of view you will be well supported internally, but we need your experience of electrical design to help us grow as a business.

The existing design team are experienced engineers with a real passion for R&D and a flair for innovation – you can help us to stay ahead of our competition as we develop new machinery.

   

As a business, we’re looking to hire an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll help us to transfer our existing machinery from traditional combustion engines to electrical drives/motors and lithium battery technology in the next few years. It’s all changing. Help us stay ahead of the curve.

As we currently outsource our electronic/PCB design as well, any appreciation you have of that would also be great. As would any software / controls knowledge (maybe gained from education or experience?)

Your main responsibilities: Electrical Design Engineer : special purpose machinery – control systems

•Bring the necessary Electrical Design Engineering experience to our business
•Electrical Design & Development experience of motor controls. control panel design, wiring diagrams etc

Your Background: Electrical Design Engineer : special purpose machinery – control systems

•You will have proven electrical design and development experience of motor controls gained from designing some form of machinery, equipment or vehicle. We are really open on this. If you have designed a tail-lift, you could transfer that knowledge to designing a crane, roller shutter door, lifting platform, winch, conveyor belt, an EV or a forklift etc
•We are not too caught up on your qualifications, but you will need a broad electrical engineering background and you’ll probably have a degree, HND or an HNC in Electrical Engineering to back that up with
•From working in a design environment before, you will have a clear understanding of how your Electrical design work will impact on Mechanical Design (packaging and enclosures) and Software Engineering (controls) in the design team

THE COMPANY:

We design our own niche electro-mechanical special purpose machinery that installs fibre optic cables.

We don’t expect you to have any existing knowledge of those types of machines.

As part of the Application Support team your role will be to support our customer base by delivering enhancements, upgrades, and other services related to their DeltaV DCS/SIS which ensure the operational and maintenance needs of our customers are met or exceeded.


You will become part of our team, within the Automation Solutions division, which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve reliability and boost performance of their DeltaV systems.


We typically engage with the latest technologies and products within the DeltaV portfolio, with a focus on system upgrades and Cybersecurity enhancements through add-ons such as Backup & Recovery, System Health Monitoring, Patch Management and Endpoint Security deployments.


This role would suit a person having had some exposure to industry and control systems, but now wants to expand their technical capabilities and ownership of activities. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Product Knowledge ndash; have a working knowledge of DeltaV DCS including configuration/graphics and setup, the Windows platform on which it is deployed and its associated PlantWeb technologies such as Backup and Recovery, Automated Patch Management, etc.
  • Project Execution ndash; be responsible for managing and delivering solutions for our customers, including requirements, quotation, engineering, commissioning, and ongoing site support
  • Customer Support ndash; assist customers in the resolution of Emerson product service and application issues, where necessary initiate and coordinate support from the Emerson Global Support Centre
  • Sales Support ndash; assist in the demonstration of Emerson products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service:
    • Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist in their pursuit
    • Assist in preparation of support literature for Sales opportunities
  • Field Service ndash; assist with LTSA contract activities (Maintenance, DVSAS, health checks, etc.), available to join the On Call rota
  • Working Environment ndash; be flexible to work throughout the British Isles, offshore or abroad and occasionally work unsociable hours including weekends to support customers
  • Technical Consultation ndash; provide technical consultation and site engineering services for our installed customer base, assisting in optimizing their control and instrumentation systems and utilizing the full functionality of their Emerson product
  • Safety Systems ndash; carry out work on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:


Required

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage own time

  • Experience of Windows OS and networking

Preferred

  • HNC/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent
