While reporting to the Engineering Team Lead you will design, develop, and commercialize packaging solutions to address our customers’ unique requirements and challenges.  In most cases the customers will include pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, clinical trials, diagnostics, and other life science based industries.  Other projects will include but are not limited to the development of our pre-qualified product lines and production based improvement initiatives.  As project engineer your role is more tactical (development of product) than strategic, however you will also be strategic in long term goals for the customer, company, and products developed.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will Interpret the customers goals and challenges into product and/or solution requirements
  • You will create visual presentations of designs and concepts using CAD and PowerPoint for internal and external review. Working from instructions, protocols, drawings, proposals, specifications and other important information
  • You will oversee and manage projects, samples, pricing and reports, providing regular status updates on timelines and deliverables.
  • You will prepare specifications and documents in accordance with requirements, including metrics on performance, efficiency and cost saving initiatives.
  • You will communicate with new and existing customers to provide information on products and solutions, resolve problems, and for technical support. You must be able to speak effectively with customers, and before groups of people.
  • You will communicate with all areas of the company.  The ability to communicate with both internal and external partners to bring products to fruition is essential. You will work closely with sales, marketing and operations teams.

This position is located in Montgomeryville, PA., with some travel (10%).

Innovation - New Product Introduction

§  Plan, coordinate and implement new products and processes into Production

§  Interface with R&D/LCE during new product development or product enhancement projects, to ensure the design is acceptable for manufacturability

§  Design and/or procure workstations, machinery, fixtures and tooling required for new production lines in compliance with various regulatory requirements

§  Perform and document production process verification and validation

 

Continuous Improvement

§  Identify continuous improvement opportunities; develop and implement solutions

§  Foster Lean culture and lead Lean/Kaizen Events in Production

§  Lead and manage continuous improvement projects

§  Train and mentor colleagues on Lean principles and tools

 

Act as Project Lead when larger scale Production improvements are needed.

Act as proxy for the Production Quality Engineer.

Contribute to the development of the function/area budget.  Monitor daily financial transactions to ensure adherence to policies / controls and prevent cost overruns.

Your Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Related Experience:

§  5 – 8 years related experience in a manufacturing environment required. High volume, automated production line experience is preferred

§  Prior SAP/Agile usage in a Production environment desired. Experience with SAP repetitive manufacturing modules is preferred

§  MS Office proficiency required; MS Access & MS Project desired

§  Demonstrated Organizational & Project Management Skills preferred

 

Special Competencies or Certifications:

§  Experience in laying out facilities and equipment is desired. Requires CAD experience
