What You Will Do

  • Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

A few responsibilities of our Ambulatory Care Technicians include:


  • Dispatches various emergency team members to respond to any given emergency such as Code Blues, Infant Abductions, Fire, Trauma, Emergency Preparedness Plans, Hazardous Materials Spills, Intrusion Alarms, Panic Button Alarms and other emergencies

  • Record and log details of each emergency request received for future reference and legal support

  • Processes requests for communication with physicians, residents, hospital staff and patients by utilizing various paging systems

  • Locates physicians in emergency situations

  • Communicates and announces any emergency situation for the medical center and provides detailed information to key personnel via radio, telephone dispatch, and follows procedures to alert emergency personnel such as fire and police departments

  • Handles all incoming calls and paging responsibilities for all campuses of Wesley Medical Center

  • Sets up pagers, cell phones and spectra links for physicians, employees and on -call teams

  • Participates in the Emergency Preparedness Plan with the Administrator On -Call, Security, and Chief Medical Officer

  • Maintains computer database of all admitting physicians and residents

  • Assists medical staff, hospital staff, patients and visitors with long distance calling, phone system capabilities, patient information and complaints

  • Dispatches Director on -call and Administrator on -call for calls received through the PALS line

  • Maintains daily on -call schedules for Trauma Alert team members including staff surgeon, chief and junior surgery residents, anesthesiologist, orthopedic resident and other various hospital staff

Qualifications

Required Registration, Licensure or Certification

  • Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Current Multi-State Licensure as a Registered Nurse.

  • Answers telephones and/or greets visitors, maintains and checks Housing & Community Services email inbox, gives information, takes messages, directs clients to appropriate Housing & Community Services staff, and schedules routine events such as Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Hearings and Private Conferences.
  • May maintain customer accounts and related records in online databases: posts payments, prepares and sends out closing or special bills, checks the accuracy of customer billing against controls and prepares routine transaction reports, create Housing Choice Voucher file folders.
  • May issue various types of licenses and permits; compute fees; issue receipts of payment; create work orders from call-ins by maintenance staff; provide appropriate forms to walk in clients

Position Summary:  Under the general supervision of the Nursing Unit's Manager or designee, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the nursing unit on his/her designated shifts.  In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.

  • Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift
  • Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff
  • Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when on duty
  • Makes decisions regarding activities with these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource standards, and Standards of Care for the Unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team
  • Supports and demonstrates alignment and leadership of the mission of Wesley Healthcare and Wesley ICARE standards
  • Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participation in quality of care activities to initiate, implement, and sustain process improvements
  • Maintains current professional knowledge, acts as a role model/resource, and oversees direct nursing care to patients

Qualifications

Required Registration, Licensure or Certification

  • Current Licensure in the state of Kansas as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
  • Obtain Advanced Certification in department's area of specialty within 24 months

Required Education or Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

Preferred Education or Experience

  • BSN
  • Two (2) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit

Patient Transporter - Patient Transportation - Full-Time, Rotating - Ascension Via Christi Hospital St Francis - Wichita, KS

This is a 40 hour per week position, with days varied to meet staffing and business needs. The hours are 12:00 (noon) to 8:30 pm. Scheduled hours and days may be adjusted to cover open shifts if needed or another campus if needed so flexibility is a must. It does require every other weekend and every other holiday.

What You Will Do

Transport patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility.

  • Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including ,patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
  • Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department.
  • May assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
  • Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
