Joining Davies as ourlatestMajor & Complex LossAdjuster means that you'll be carrying out the adjustment of High Net Worth, Major Loss and other complex claims including escape of oil.

It’s a busy role, with a broad range of responsibilities, but the fundamentals include:

• A willingness to travel within the UK and flexibility in working arrangements to meet business requirements
• To handle claims in line with company requirements and particularly the demanding service standards of M&CLU clients
• To ensure key performance indicator targets are reached and maintained
• To actively progress and control all cases
• Understand and effectively implement Company and individual client procedures
• Ensure technical accuracy of the highest standard and produce reports of highest quality
• Be flexible at all times and able to accommodate appointment requirements
• Build effective relationships with clients, brokers and policy holders

Training will be provided which will be specific and pertinent to the role but will require knowledge, understanding and capability in the following areas:

• High-level of experience within an adjusting role, including major losses
• Proven track record of property adjusting and HNW
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment
• Dependability and persistence are essential
• Flexible approach and adaptable to changing priorities
• Full driving license required
• ACII and ACILA qualifications preferable

Charles Taylor Adjusting - General Adjusting Services - Claims Handler

Charles Taylor Adjusting is one of the leading international loss adjusting businesses. We focus on commercial losses and claims in the aviation, energy, marine, property, casualty and special risk markets, many of which are large and complex in nature.  These include onshore and offshore energy claims, maritime casualties, aircraft losses, large infrastructure claims and financial lines losses.

Opportunity

We have an opportunity for Claims Handler roles within our existing office based Claims Handling Team within our Birmingham office, located in Coleshill. The roles will be predominantly Household Property Claims Handling to begin with, although, there are other opportunities for Commercial Claims Handling and assisting with the wide range of other work we undertake.

Responsibilities

• Receive and triage first notification of loss
• Liaise with brokers and underwriters
• Appoint surveyors, lawyers and other experts in order to progress claims within a delegated authority or with the agreement of lead underwriters if exceeded
• Collect all documents in relation to claims and consider policy wording and liability of the assured.
• Contribute to settlement negotiations with claimants and consider possible recoveries from third parties
• Ensure that appointed experts are given clear instructions regarding scope of works
• Obtain and agree a pricing structure and estimate of fees
• Contribute personal fee production with annual budgeted WIP being the minimum target
• Actively market the TPA offering to existing and new business contacts with an aim to increase overall business for the company

Person Specification

• We are looking for individuals with some experience of Property Claims Handling
• Commercial Claims Handling would be useful but not essential
• Professional Insurance / Loss Adjusting / Surveying qualifications are desirable, but not essential
• The key skill we are looking for is someone who is highly motivated to take on all tasks to ensure the success of our business. We consider this key skill to be more desirable than experience
