The Contact Center Representative (Basic Support) is responsible for receiving inbound calls from the membership, providing information and credit union services through interaction with the members over the telephone.

 

What are we looking for? The good news is that your training will teach you everything you need to know to succeed on the job. But there are a few skills you should have from the beginning:

  • You're a friendly person who is comfortable talking on the phone. You'll need to communicate to our members that their questions are your number one priority. Helping to provide resolution to a member's request is an essential part of your job.
  • You're enthusiastic about our products and services and have a desire to share your enthusiasm with members. You understand the importance of accuracy and ensure our member's receive top notch service every call.
  • You've got attitude - the right kind of course - and understand the need to be on time, all the time. With loads of energy, you understand that work is easier - and more fun - with some teamwork.

 

Department Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Employees scheduled for Saturday hours will have one full day off during the week.  Contact Center is closed on Sunday. This is a full time position totaling 40 hours per week.


Receive inbound calls from the membership. Must be knowledgeable of all credit union services, various departments, etc. to answer questions from the membership and other outside contacts. Must be able to question the member to obtain a full understanding of the member’s needs and assist with transferring the call to another employee/department if necessary.

 

Provide member with assistance on the following services:

 

Accounts

  • Explain different account options, terms, rates, etc.
  • Provide account information to members, i.e., account balances, cleared drafts, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, returned checks, etc.
  • Update existing member loan and deposit accounts.

Remote Services

  • Explain and cross-sell the remote services including Online Banking, Indirect Lending, STAR, etc. 

Cross Selling

  • Cross sell additional deposit, loan, and electronic products by offering members feature and benefit information on these services, and referring members to appropriate departments.
  • Cross sell credit union services to the membership

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 

Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience required. Call Center experience a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be accurate in all transactions. 
  • Must treat all members and outside contacts in a positive and cooperative attitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills required in order to communicate with the membership and coworkers in a professional manner. 
  • A high degree of poise and tact to represent the credit union in a positive manner to the membership and outside contacts. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision. 
  • Must manage length of call with member. 
  • Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast, paced environment with a diversity of job duties and knowledge. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required. 
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and the internet 
  • Must have ability to operate or have ability to be trained to operate related office equipment including calculator, check and receipt printers, computer terminal (PC), multifunction copier, telephone and typewriter.

Serve as business operations lead. Member Business Deposit (MBD) services, deposit data, treasury management, and online banking functions.  Provide support for Member Business Loan (MBL) functions. Organize Member Business daily activities/duties and provide project research and support.


  • Develop an in depth understanding of member business entity types, MBD and MBL products and services, and best practices.
  • Determine, obtain, and prepare the necessary MBD documents.
  • Determine, prepare and/or obtain the necessary loan documents. to evidence debt and secure business purpose loans less than or equal to $50,000.
  • Develop and prepare applications using Meridian Link.
  • Inform prospective and existing members different account options, terms, rates, policies and procedures.
  • Open and maintenance all MBD accounts, including savings, checking, escrow, money market, and certificate of deposit.
  • Service existing MBD accounts.
  • Receive inbound calls and emails from the membership. Must be knowledgeable of all credit union services, various departments, etc. to answer questions from the membership and other outside contacts.  Must be able to question the member to obtain a full understanding of the member’s needs.
  • Provide telephone support for member businesses and credit union employees seeking MBD and MBL department assistance.
  • Create, scan, and maintain accurate MBD files.
  • Assist with preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) MBD reports.
  • Assist with the implementation of new products, services and procedures.
  • Assist business members with small financing needs up to $50,000 to include but not limited to ACH Origination, remote deposit capture, and credit cards.
  • Be attentive to member needs, cross-sell credit union products or services as appropriate.
  • Create online business banking business profiles. Provide access to the appropriate segment
  • Manage online business banking relationships including but not limited to unlock, reset, and generate code.
  • Assist with online business banking ACH training material preparation and distribution.
  • Setup and maintain companies and users for small business payments.
  • Review, approve, and deny pending ACH transactions.
  • Preform review of collateral documents; noting any exceptions and reporting/resolving any deficiencies with management, to ensure the credit union’s security interest is established appropriately.
  • Ensure loans are booked and funded in a timely manner in accordance with loan approval.
  • Create loan files and complete post-close checklist; verifying timely recording of security documents, within one week of loan
  • Provide weekly status updates to manager on MBD and loan files.
  • Maintain knowledge of department processes and provide back-up support as needed.
  • Follow all credit union policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Carry out all responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Read all internal publications including Source and Possibilities.

Education:

  • Four year college degree in business or finance, or equivalent experience in business banking

Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience with business deposits and/or consumer loans preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate positively and professionally with employees and members.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the internet.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

The Contact Center Representative (Basic Support) is responsible for receiving inbound calls from the membership, providing information and credit union services through interaction with the members over the telephone.

Department Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Employees scheduled for Saturday hours will have one full day off during the week.  Contact Center is closed on Sunday. This is a full time position totaling 40 hours per week.


Receive inbound calls from the membership. Must be knowledgeable of all credit union services, various departments, etc. to answer questions from the membership and other outside contacts. Must be able to question the member to obtain a full understanding of the member’s needs and assist with transferring the call to another employee/department if necessary.

 

Provide member with assistance on the following services:

 

Accounts

  • Explain different account options, terms, rates, etc.
  • Provide account information to members, i.e., account balances, cleared drafts, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, returned checks, etc.
  • Update existing member loan and deposit accounts.

Remote Services

  • Explain and cross-sell the remote services including Online Banking, Indirect Lending, STAR, etc. 

Cross Selling

  • Cross sell additional deposit, loan, and electronic products by offering members feature and benefit information on these services, and referring members to appropriate departments.
  • Cross sell credit union services to the membership

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 

Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience required. Call Center experience a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be accurate in all transactions. 
  • Must treat all members and outside contacts in a positive and cooperative attitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills required in order to communicate with the membership and coworkers in a professional manner.
