• Answering calls that come into the Helpdesk in a friendly and proficient manner

We're looking for our first UK lead on internal IT to set the "in-country" standard for IT support that will underpin the growth of Pax8 in the UK and beyond.

You'll be operating at the heart of our newly combined entities - Wirehive and Pax8, working on prem from our amazing offices in Farnborough and also providing proactive, engaging and people centric support to our site in Bristol acting as the internal IT bridgehead between Denver, USA and the UK.

Tech Day to Day in this role includes:

Goal of position : 

This new role is required to supplement the existing software team resource to help support growth in Loma’s development programmes.  The prime requirements of the role are to develop, validate and test software and hardware for Loma’s inspection products to ensure products are robust, easy to use, cost effective, market-leading and optimising the capacity of the system.

Tasks:

• Design, develop, test and implementation of real time software primarily in Embedded C using PC based development environments and for a variety of target devices.
• Cover the full project life-cycle from initial feasibility studies, bench tests, capture of requirements, design, test, verification, release to production and post introduction support. 
• Documentation of design specifications and implementation details
• Creation of test specifications and procedures to aide proper validation of products 
• Works as part of a team and undertakes peer review of software as required
• Use of JIRA, TestRail and source control software to self-manage development tasks
• A responsibility to keep up to date with the latest technologies and help support differentiation of our products
• Works to gain an in-depth understanding of customer and user interaction with Loma’s products that can be fed into both development of products and continuous improvement program.

Our games are developed in Unity, and while you will spend time working in the Unity Editor, you will also be working with tools outside of the game to contribute to our build and test pipeline, and other tools to make the lives of the rest of the team easier. Sometimes this is system-admin type work, sometimes writing automation scripts, and other times methodically debugging edge cases and obscure bugs that could cause instability in our games.
