The Loader is an entry level position within our distribution department at our bakeries/sales centers. They are responsible for the front-line distribution operations that perform various duties including moving stacks of product, using pick to light programs or voice activated equipment, filling orders to a route, loading and unloading trucks, etc.

•Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
•Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
•Load trucks and routes with proper amount of each variety
•Have knowledge of where products are located on shipping dock
•Have knowledge of how much of each variety is in each tray
•Keep empty trays available for wrapping personnel
•Unload product and/ or empty trays from incoming transports
•Keep the work area clean
•Perform any other job-related duties assigned to them by their supervisor or lead person
•Regular dependable attendance is an essential function of this position
•Requires lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, excessive walking and constant standing

Summary: The Loader moves stacked and palletized products in a safe and efficient manner onto truck trailers in preparation for transport to customers. The employee locates all work orders and batches for a load in up to three different environments (dry or ambient, cold, freezer). Once products are located, the Loader plans truck loading, taking into consideration the load weight, size, temperature compartments, truck space and area. Products are then “married” onto pallets. This includes combining loads, re-stacking and re-palletizing products and wrapping the pallets. Trucks are then loaded using power jacks.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:The employee must have proficient knowledge of English and basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred. Employee must be able to be certified for PIT operation by DPI.
Work Environment:The work environment is indoors. The employee may be exposed to variable temperatures from the three different product climates (dry, cold, freezer). The floors may be concrete in the warehouse areas. The employee may be exposed to exhaust fumes from trucks when working in colder climates as the trucks may need to be running during the loading process.
Work Hours: The work schedule is either 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, or 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.
Physical and Mental Demands: Medium,exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently, to move objects including the human body. This job also requires frequent standing.Know and follow proper safety protocols;know and follow DPI’s grooming, hygiene and dress code standards, including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance. Know and apply truck weight distribution, product loads and spatial relations to effectively and safely load trailers; know and follow temperature sensitive protocols when transporting goods, loading trucks and prioritizing workflow.
Overview of the Loader position
This position is responsible for loading and unloading route delivery trucks with accurate predetermined supply of Company products.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklift to load/unload route trucks and inter-branch trailers.
* Maintain ORACLE inventory control.
* Input loads in and out of ORACLE.
* Maintain clean, orderly warehouse and loading areas.
* Participate in daily inventory activities including cycle counts.
* Verify load sheets and ensure trucks receive correct equipment and product loads.
* Responsible for ordering all products, as well as inventory control.
Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent experience of (3) three to (5) years with a stable work history.
* Basic computer/data entry skills and math abilities.
* Physically able to safely lift bottles and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
* Able to work flexible, extended hours and weekends as needed.
* Able to meet Company driver qualification policy requirements.
* Ability to receive forklift operator certification.
