Job Description

Clason Point Partners Inc. (CPP) is seeking a Mail Clerk II for a government contract in Washington, DC providing mail room services which include processing incoming mail and other items, and preparing outgoing mail and other items for picking.  The Mail Clerk will also process accountable mail, newspapers, and confidential disposal bin requests.  Additionally,  the Mail Clerk will provide customer support on behalf of the mailroom staff.  Additional duties include basic data entry and form processing functions; conduct inventories.  The Mail Clerk will drive a mail vehicle within a 50-mile radius to pick-up and deliver items.  

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Must have the ability to read and follow instructions explicitly, possess effective communication skills both orally and written
  • Must be literate and have the ability to communicate in English
  • At least one (1) year of mailroom experience including envelope folding and stuffing, sorting, delivering, and metering mail, and be able to perform mail duties as assigned
  • Must have knowledge of USPS shipping methods 
  • Must hold a valid vehicle operator's license, with no record of accidents or traffic violations within the last three (3) years, and no record of an alcohol or drug abuse problem
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience driving a cargo van or larger vehicle 
  • Must be knowledgeable of the street layout of the Washington Metropolitan Area, capable of reading a map, and be able to drive to locations in a timely manner
  • Heavy lifting is required

Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition counseling, and friendship to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and several counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

 

We seek a Food Service Receiver and Shipping Coordinator to assist with inventory management and packaging meals for delivery.  Specific duties include:

 

  • receiving shipments of food and kitchen supplies, checking orders for accuracy, and inspecting food for quality and freshness;
  • working with vendors to replace missing or damaged/expired goods;
  • unpacking shipments of food and supplies, and storing them appropriately;
  • taking inventory of food items and expiration dates to minimize shortages and waste;
  • assessing and documenting temperatures of perishable food items and their storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers;
  • cleaning and organizing food storage areas to maintain strict hygiene standards at all times; and
  • packing home delivered meals for shipping to clients.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with an interest in food service to join the team of one of DC’s most prominent nonprofit organizations. 

 

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and at least two years of relevant experience.  Other requirements include knowledge of sanitary food handling techniques and ability to pass a food handler’s exam; a keen sense for organization; ability to take notes and maintain written documentation; ability to operate a pallet jack; an appreciation for diversity; and ability to be physically mobile, stand for long periods of time, and regularly  lift up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.  Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.

BlueForce Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for an Information Systems and Distribution File Clerk to support the US Department of State (DOS) General Services Administration contract in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
  • US Citizenship
  • Must have the required security clearance level and be able to maintain eligibility throughout duration of employment
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Information Systems and Mail Room Distribution activities
  • Must have a basic user knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)  
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Solely responsible for reading, sorting and distributing; Secretary of State mail, Department of State mail, and mail destined for the Office of IRM Programs and Services.
  • Provides filing and distributing case files pertaining to Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act/Executive Order l2958 for declassification of official records, and the retirement and subsequent retrieval of official Department of State files. Issues temporary access badges. Other Duties Include: 
Mailroom Activity:
1.   Opens, reads and properly distributes mail addressed to the Secretary of State and Department of State delivered from DPM (Diplomatic Mail and Pouch.)
2.   Takes corrective action in cases of wrong addressee.
3.   Assures prompt delivery of above mail.
4.   Keeps abreast of Departmental changes, i.e. bureau names changes, address changes, etc.
5.   Informs Bureau of Diplomatic Security of suspicious mail.
6.   Manifests and registers classified mail.
7.   Prepares outgoing packages according to UPS standards.
8.   Maintains daily contact with Office of the Secretary of State and other offices within the Department to ensure proper and timely delivery of mail.
 
File Room Activity:
1.   Ensures JPS case files are properly closed in computerized tracking system     
2.   Files closed IPS case files in retriever in main IPS file room in numerical order.
3.   Files loose correspondence in close d IPS case files.
4.   Retires case files in accordance with proper file retirement procedures and ensures retired files are delivered to Department's Records Service Center in Newington, VA.
5.   Receives requests for retired Department files from bureaus in the Department.
6.   Maintains weekly contact with Department’s Records Service Center and Washington National Records Center in order to retrieve retired files.
7.   Contacts appropriate bureau when retired files are retrieved from retirement location.
8.   Keeps accurate log of retrieval process.
 
Maintenance of work environment:
I.    Ensures that all work areas are kept neat, clean and orderly.
2.   Alerts supervisor of any environmental difficulties that may arise.
3.   Identifies and reports all operational deficiencies.
4.   Submits weekly reports to proper authorities documenting the need for upkeep and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
5.   Participates in training programs as required.

SSAI is seeking a Mail and Copy Clerk for a current government contract in Washington, DC. A Public Trust clearance is required for this position. Candidates must pass a background check along with finger printing and a drug test. This process takes approximately 2 weeks.


  • Operating an on-site copy center, including making copies, binding large sets of copies
  • Communicate professionally with all individuals encountered in providing support via the contract.
  • Receive, store, and distribute publications
  • Performing mail services, receiving, and shipping of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels (two mail runs throughout the organization per day)
  • Operating Pitney Bowes mail metering machine
  • Use Microsoft Office, including excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook
  • Other administrative and clerk functions, including filling printer paper, assisting in records management, assisting in operations of a supply room, etc.
  • Support minor records management, including filing electronic archives and digitizing hard copy records
  • Must support office material handling and laborer requirements, including:
    • Unload and process incoming shipments, packages and assorted materials for the agency from sources such as delivery services (e.g. FedEx, UPS) or another government building.
    • Minor furniture assembly of office desks and equipment.
    • Inspect deliveries sufficiently to detect and report short, over, or damaged conditions.
    • Complete and sign shipping reports for packages and maintain a tracking log for all received packages.
    • Ensure received shipments are stored properly, safely and consistent with storage requirements until delivered to the responsible party.
    • Fill work orders and requests for materials, tools or other stock items
    • Load and assemble, as needed, pallets, packages, materials, etc. for delivery to requesting unit.
    • Use basic hand tools to build and assemble stage and simple fixtures required for events
    • Setup equipment for events and conferences including, but not limited to, audio cables, microphones, audio mixers, speakers, and lighting fixtures.
    • Setup of chairs, tables, podiums and other movable office furniture for conference settings.


Requirements


  • A Public Trust clearance is required for this position. Candidates must pass a Federal background check along with finger printing and a drug test. This process takes approximately 2 weeks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly.
  • Experience with minor furniture assembly.
  • Ability to safely use power tools.
  • Strong skills in professional communications and customer service.
  • Experience with email and general software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in making large print and copy production runs, and ensuring the highest quality end product in printing and copying
  • Demonstrable experience in performing with little direct supervision
  • Mail and package delivery experience, including accountable packages
  • Outgoing mail support, including knowledge of a Pitney Bowes system
  • Knowledge of receiving, storing, issuing and distribution functions.
  • Ability to prepare inventory and production reports, screen and identify shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies and direct shipments to shipping or storage areas.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public.
  • Ability to meet with coworkers and the public and to deal effectively with their questions and issues
