The opportunity Research and Innovation Services (RIS) is based at Cardiff Metropolitan University's Llandaff Campus, from where the team supports research and innovation interactions with business and the wider community. At an operational level, we are the gateway through which external organisations can access the support and knowledge base of the University. We work with colleagues across Cardiff Met’s five academic schools and all units on a broad range of research and knowledge transfer activities maximising the commercial and social value of the University's research. The post holder will be an integral member of the North Somerset Intensive Service working with people experiencing significant mental health problems and who are in crisis, requiring home treatment and/or in-patient admission.
The team provides emergency and urgent assessments for people who are already receiving a service from the Mental Health Trust and for people newly referred, providing short term interventions which focus on individual recovery and crisis resolution.
The team supports individuals to remain in the community to be cared for in the least restrictive environment where this is the best option, and/or to facilitate early discharge from hospital.
The North Somerset Intensive Team operates over a 24 hour period, seven days per week and there is a requirement to work nights, shifts and weekends. This posts is open to a Registered mental health professionals that can substantiate the requisite skill set. Which includes being able to undertake frontline Mental Health assessments, comprehensive risk assessments and risk management plans.
North Somerset is a friendly place to work, near the coast. The locality offers an integrated service with teams working closely together. The team are supportive, work hard but the work is very rewarding.
