This is a unique and exciting opportunity as our team faces a period of modernisation and development. This is a newly developed post within our team, designed to work alongside our existing admin team and clinical staff in the ongoing development of treatment pathways.

We are looking to recruit a highly organised individual who is proficient in a range of software programmes such as Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word. It is vital that you have advanced typing skills, excellent attention to detail and can cope well under pressure. Experience of minute taking and transcribing minutes is also essential.

The role will be varied and fast paced and will support various functions within the team, including reception, which will include working alongside our existing receptionist in managing our phone lines; supporting the triage of calls for our duty team, triage and clinic/appointment management.

You will require an excellent telephone manner and an ability to maintain diplomacy and efficiency, when under pressure. You will work closely with the team, so exemplary communication skills will be critical. You will also be required to liaise with external agencies and GP's, and the use of our electronic patient record system will form a critical part of the role, in appointment scheduling and effective documenting.

This post will be based in Fenton however will work alongside the existing administrator based at another site to support the service wide administration needs.

Your role will be to provide comprehensive administration support which will include processing information, reporting on team performance data, using a clinical system to process all new referrals and be the first contact to the service communicating with a range of personnel including families and other health professionals.

You will be required to work on your own initiative and demonstrate a willingness to help others and be a key member of the team. You will need to manage your own workload and ensure information is communicated appropriately and any enquiries are directed accordingly. You should have relevant experience of working in a NHS or corporate environment and hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in business admin.

You will be expected to be able to prioritise work and meet deadlines in order to fulfil the requirements of the post, liaising with others in order to provide a high quality seamless service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential with an ability to deal with sensitive and challenging situations. The post holder will have excellent MS Office skills including word processing and database.
