This is a really diverse Mechanical Engineer role incorporating a variety of functions. 

These include:

•Sales support – working alongside the Sales Manager, dealing with current and potential customers via telephone and face to face (both at Milton Keynes and at client sites UK wide)
•Sales administration / order processing / customer service
•Application Engineering – CAD/CAM using 2D & 3D packages.
•Small amount of service work – fault finding, repair, installation and commissioning

•As our Technical Support Engineer, you'll be interacting with customers - as customer support / sales administration and eventually even pro-active sales - if that's your thing!

•You'll get full product training on our range of high speed precision CNC Milling / Machine tooling products.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, Sales Support Engineer : CNC Machines

•You'll be an qualified Mechanical Engineer with some exposure (via work or experience) to CAD/CAM software – e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or Mastercam.
•In an ideal world, you will have some understanding or exposure to CNC milling.
•Perhaps your background is in production engineering with experience of CAD/CAM software?
•Maybe you're a Service or Applications Engineer with existing client facing skills.
•You could also come from a technical support background providing technical support via telephone, email or face to face?
•You'll need to have some sort of customer facing / client relationship experience. This could be from a sales, design, service, applications, project or technical support background - for example.

Your responsibilities

Job Description

As an Applications Engineer you will provide customer support for Microchip’s Capacitive Touch products. Skills and Experience Required.

  • Professional knowledge of Service Delivery methodologies and security standards, ITIL and ISO27001
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to determine the approximate impact of each issue quickly.
  • Excellent people management and delegation skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise.
  • Experience of managing and continuously improving an IT Service function and establishing appropriate processes and governance.
  • Leadership of successful IT infrastructure and services transformation projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure components (e.g. networking, data centre, desktop, , IT security, firewalls, Virus and Malware control) and experience of managing and integrating a portfolio of on-premise and Cloud-based services (e.g. Office2013/ Exchange 2013, Office365, SaaS).
  • In-depth understanding of Windows 10, Server 2008/12/16 and above, including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP, in a worldwide multi-domain environment.
  • Knowledge of LANs, WANs, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs and firewall technologies, ideally support worldwide locations including China and USA
  • Experience of Office 365 product suite, including Teams, SharePoint, Unified communications, Mobile Device Management.
  • Ideally experience of moving from Exchange 2013 to Office365 enterprise and F1 / K1
  • Ideally experience of supporting remote and agile workers, including locations in China and USA
  • Experience of supporting engineering user environments is desirable; CAD (Catia / Solidworks), Altair Hyperworks, SmarTeam document management.
  • A track record of building effective relationships with stakeholders in a medium-scale organisation
  • Effective leadership of major service incidents.
  • Strong working knowledge of security best practices and how these can be optimised in an IT operational environment.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal UK office hours, to support maintenance requirements and to react to exceptional work requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, Sales Support Engineer : CNC Machines

This is a really diverse Mechanical Engineer role incorporating a variety of functions. 

These include:

•Sales support – working alongside the Sales Manager, dealing with current and potential customers via telephone and face to face (both at Milton Keynes and at client sites UK wide)
•Sales administration / order processing / customer service
•Application Engineering – CAD/CAM using 2D & 3D packages.
•Small amount of service work – fault finding, repair, installation and commissioning
•Plus occasional work at exhibitions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, Sales Support Engineer : CNC Machines

•As our Technical Support Engineer, you'll be interacting with customers - as customer support / sales administration and eventually even pro-active sales - if that's your thing!
•You'll be providing technical advice, dealing with problems and sourcing solutions. Don't worry - the team are experts and will have most of the answers until you do. 
•You'll get full product training on our range of high speed precision CNC Milling / Machine tooling products.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, Sales Support Engineer : CNC Machines

•You'll be an qualified Mechanical Engineer with some exposure (via work or experience) to CAD/CAM software – e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or Mastercam.
•In an ideal world, you will have some understanding or exposure to CNC milling.
•Perhaps your background is in production engineering with experience of CAD/CAM software?
•Maybe you're a Service or Applications Engineer with existing client facing skills.
•You could also come from a technical support background providing technical support via telephone, email or face to face?
•You'll need to have some sort of customer facing / client relationship experience. This could be from a sales, design, service, applications, project or technical support background - for example.
