You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of manufacturing practices, ensuring that all operational efficiency targets are achieved whilst minimising risk and maintaining a safe environment and high-quality standards. You will monitor actual performance against standards and take appropriate action when required, ensuring sufficient resource is available for the production areas and effectively managing the workloads of your team.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join a leading Manufacturing business based near Selby, North Yorkshire to work a Permanent Afternoon Shift.
Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing are exclusively partnering with this business to find a Permanent Afternoon Production Manager who will be involved with managing a team of staff and driving improvements across Production, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement activities.
This role will report into the Operations Manager and the role will take responsibility for hitting the key production KPI's such as On Time delivery rate, labour hours and productivity, as well as the man-management of staff. You will then work with the Group Continuous Improvement Manager to deliver the strategic improvement projects across the site and work with the team on the shop floor to get their buy-in. The role will be given a lot of autonomy to identify and implement changes and to run the production facility like it is your own. There are opportunities on site to improve the process, supply chain and s.o.p's to save costs and improve efficiencies. You will work closely with all stakeholders in the business and help instil a culture of continuous improvement on site.

A Production Manager is required for a leading engineering business based near Garforth, Leeds in West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Production Manager to join a growing organisation. Role Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the operating systems, people and procedures deliver a quality product in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
  • You will work closely with the management team and supervisors to plan, set targets, and ensure finished products meet quality standards, ensuring customer expectations are met on time and in full.
  • To drive efficiency and identify, agree and implement improvements in internal processes in order to improve service delivery, cost effectiveness and customer expectations.
  • To manage the department in line with the department plan; leading the department in the delivery of agreed goals and ensuring staff are engaged and work efficiently to deliver the plan.
  • To develop excellent working relationships with external and internal stakeholders including customers, suppliers, dealers and other departments.
  • To train and coordinate the training of CI tools and techniques.
  • To establish a strong culture of operational standards as a foundation for continuous improvement.

 

Person Attributes

  • Strong production management skills with experience of running a fast-moving manufacturing facility, ideally with window industry experience.
  • Experience of managing a team, evidence of providing strong leadership and direction, a focus on motivating others, demonstrating a ‘can do’ attitude with a focus on making things happen.
  • Team orientated with the ability to motivate and lead by example and demonstrate hands on, result driven and can-do approach.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • The ability to demonstrate effective time management and prioritise tasks.
  • A willingness to undertake further training with the capability to implement learning into your daily work.
  • Excellent product knowledge with the ability to keep up to date with developments within the industry.
  • A good standard of education with some knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • The ability to work on a two-shift system and offer a flexible approach.
