The Opportunity

Our client is a local division of a multi-billion dollar Company who prides themselves as a cutting-edge technology producer in a variety Consumer Products markets and has hired us to seek out a Quality Engineer for their York, PA location.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for ensuring quality standards are met while balancing production efficiencies and downtime within their high-speed manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate will have experience:

1. Conducting statistical analysis activities related to quality
2. Knowledge of regulatory, company and bill of material standards
3. Coordinating staffing levels and scheduling to ensure smooth production
4. Providing support for audits, failure investigations, etc.
5. Contributing to the development of SOPs and quality / validation plans

Qualifications include:

• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• IQ/OQ/PQ experience
• SPC experience

Test Automation Engineer- LabVIEW.

• Works in collaboration with the engineering team, product management and marketing to understand the needs of the customer and develops workable test solutions to enable user-friendly product design. 

• Participate in cross-engineering project teams and with delivery teams to ensure projects delivered on time and meet expectations of customers.

• Carries out other duties as assigned as business needs require.

•5 plus years of professional experience test automation development.

• Demonstrate testing experience of NI and other third party test instruments

• Knowledge of computer hardware and electronics, and awareness of the constraints of embedded systems.

Writing tests in NI LabVIEW and Teststand that work to validate the devices ability to function as specified by design.

Ability to interpret drawings and other written specification for electronic devices

• Demonstrate oral and written communication skill to effectively interface with all levels of Company management and staff, customers and outside business contacts.

• Proficiency with English language both written and verbal communication.

• Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a team member to creatively and cooperatively solve problems and complete tasks.

• Intelligent problem solving ability and excellent interpersonal skills

Summary/Objective

The Assistant QA Manager, working under the supervision of the QA manager, plans, coordinates, and manages the Quality Assurance Program to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. The Assistant QA Manager implements and maintains the QA and other regulatory programs. 

Responsibilities

• Maintains, calibrates and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as Microscopes, Autoclave, Cryoscope, Fluorophos, butterfat testing equipment and any other equipment as assigned. 
• Tests materials used as ingredients in finished products.
• Tests samples of finished products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.
• Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Communicates results of lab tests and provides information to production departments.
• Responsible for food safety, as well as, product quality as presented during GMP training, HACCP training, SQF training, FSMA training and Chemical/Sanitation training.
• Be alert to any suspicious activities as per the 1st Alert training video.
• Responsible for Laboratory records and Quality records as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or relevant discipline preferred.
• 1 or more years of experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation processes preferred.
• SQF, HACCP, and GMP's knowledge preferred, obtaining certifications below will be required:

1. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certificate of Approval for Bacteriological Examination of Milk.
2. SQF Practitioner certification.
3. HACCP certification.
4. Certified by PDA for Appendix N testing, approved by PDA to perform Producer testing and certified by PDA to sample raw milk.
5. PMMB and FMMA certifications to test butterfat's.
6. Passing of annual Split Sample program.
