Job Purpose

To assist Quality Assurance Supervisor and Manager installing and implementing company standards to ensure conformity with quality specifications for packaging, raw ingredients and finished products and food safety of products manufactured by South Coast Baking. To inspect and to sample quality control plans or processes control procedures that ensure production of finished product to standard. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions

• Maintain a safe working environment (and ensure personal safe working practices).
• Lead and practice of South Coast Baking GMP procedures.
• Inspection of incoming raw materials and verify COA document.
• Application of the quality policy and procedures.
• Responsible for reporting food quality, safety and other issues to the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Performs monthly environmental swabbing for bacteria, pathogens and air plates on equipment/machines, floor areas and air environment. He/she will be responsible of preparing, documenting and sending swabs to the party lab.
• Assists QA Manager on auditing: Batch formulas and label printers.
• Assists QA Manager on Regulatory/Independent Inspectors visits.
• Conducts daily sampling of finished product against established specifications to insure product quality and requirements.
• Ensures manufacturing QA final acceptance, Product Hold and microbiological testing is carried out.
• Monitors plant operations to assure sanitary operational procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Serves as a resource to production employees for quality and food safety.
• Monitors production functions to determine if the product meets set standards.
• Verify shelf life date of all daily incoming receipt of ingredients. Monitor sensitive ingredients (liquid whole eggs, dried whole eggs, etc.) shelf life date, if near the expiration date, contact production and management via email for further direction.
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Requires strong oral, written, and communication skills
• Requires operations knowledge of computer and Microsoft office software.

Job Title: Quality Inspector, Hot Water Fabrication/Trailers

Pay Scale: Hourly

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

Location: Decatur, AR

Primary Purpose:

Inspect quality of Hot Water/Trailer production components and processes

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Desire to learn new skills and to take on new responsibilities.

Be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships and work well with others

Be firm and assertive but professional in conduct

Have general knowledge of quality assurance/quality control function.

Must be meticulous with great attention to detail

Possess effective time management and prioritization skills

Have excellent documentation and organizational skills

Able to handle multiple demands and tasks under stress

Must have a positive, adaptable attitude

Able to respond to changing priorities

Ability to use micrometers, calipers and tape measure

Must be able to read a BOM (Bill of Material)

Have the ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings

Must be able to lift 50lbs to chest height

Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience working in manufacturing preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Must follow the direction given by Quality Supervisor and Managers for daily tasks.
2. Ability to set priorities and work schedule with minimal direct supervision.
3. Audit Hot Water Fab/Trailer production processes
4. Evaluate Hot Water Fab/Trailer production components
5. Retrieve paperwork for line
6. Perform full BOM check on line
7. Verify all material on raw goods pallets and gaylords are correct
8. Document all data and findings on the appropriate forms
9. Take corrective / preventative measures when a nonconformance is discovered
10. Communicate with personnel from other depts. when a nonconformance is discovered
11. Elevate any issues or concerns to Quality management in a timely fashion.
12. Complete special assignments as required.

Safety

1. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
2. Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety equipment as prescribed by law.
3. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
4. Follow established safety procedures and techniques and perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
5. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

Other Duties as Assigned

1. Other duties could include working in other areas to provide support during absences or shortage of staff.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

1. No direct supervision responsibilities.

1. Micrometer, caliper, gages and other handheld electronic test instruments

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician I (In-Process Auditor)

Pay Scale: Hourly

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Primary Purpose:

Coordinate and perform visual and dimensional inspections on vendor products and manufactured products. Perform Out of Box audits on finished goods from production floor. Backup/ support for quality inspectors online.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

High School diploma/GED with 2 years experience in a QA department.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Able to communicate and work well with others.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to use simple and test equipment to set up and run tests.

Ability to set priorities with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of hand tools used for dimensional inspections (caliper, micrometer, thread

gauges, etc.).

General knowledge of quality assurance/quality control function.

Some heavy lifting could be required (up to 85 pounds).

Ability to read & interpret documents.

Experience:

2 years previous QA experience desired.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform in process inspections.
2. Perform first article inspections.
3. Perform operational testing and visual inspections on parts/assemblies.
4. Perform dimensional inspections on manufactured components.
5. Record inspection data onto reporting documents as directed.
6. Maintain a clean, organized work area.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety
