The Senior NPI Process and Yield Improvement Engineer is responsible for monitoring, improving, recording, organizing, tracking and presenting the process yield data of Rockley fab partners. It requires close cooperation with the partner teams as well as Rockley process, design, packaging teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

*This list is not all inclusive. Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

  • Partner with design to execute new product introduction at Rockley foundry locations worldwide.  This includes understanding TO, mask delivery and Foundry resources to minimize delays to key new products and improvement programs for existing products.
  • Coordinate and drive change control in all areas from design to finished fab processes.  This includes all processes on Si, SOI, DSOI and III/IV substrates being manufactured in Rockley foundries.  Consultation and participation in change control for packaging, assembly and other organization is expected for continuity.
  • Identify, participate in and/or lead high impact process control activities that result in improvements to safety, quality, delivery, cost, including production yield at fab partners in collaboration with Rockley process team, measurement team, and partner teams.
  • Be responsible for monitoring yield data procedures and outcome at fab partners. This includes ensuring that process control systems and measurement databases are highly available and error resistant, and support filling-in the gaps as needed.
  • Track schedule, cost, risk assessment, and yield of the improvement activities within all fab partners. It includes materials, utilities, and labor. 
  • Lead development and standardization of in-line measurement plans for process monitoring. It includes to train the Rockley team on yield improvement activities, getting their feedback for process improvements, and statistical data control as much as can benefit also the R&D partners. 
  • Be responsible for yield, related to mask ordering, mask scheduling, floor planning, and layout activities. 
  • Review operating conditions for variations and recommend corrective actions, which include: to develop, implement and communicate best practices between fab partners, suppliers, and RP teams. It also includes to implement checklists, guidelines, "lesson learnt" and history documents to capture and record all yield-improvement activities. 
  • Support short loop planning to early assessment of yield issues, in collaboration with Rockley packaging and design teams. 
  • Work closely with internal and external process teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project or minor enhancement specifications, complete with work estimates and forecasted benefits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc in related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with NPI, engineering yield or quality trouble-shooting for semiconductor processing
  • 2+ year experience in manufacturing fabs for photonics applications
  • Process transfer experience preferred
  • Track record of dealing with multiple fab partners, of problem solving, and of yield improvement
  • Frequent travel to Sweden required;

The role-holder will assist schools, academics and departments in the acquisition of industry-focussed collaborative opportunities. In particular targeting the development of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), Innovate UK and Welsh Government SMART funded projects. The Knowledge Transfer Officer (KTO) will occupy a key role in Cardiff Metropolitan University’s mission to support industry and commerce through a wide variety of commercial activity.

The role will primarily involve working alongside academic colleagues and funding bodies to develop proposals with a view to securing external income. The Adult Weight Management Service is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Clinical Psychologist to support people living with complex, obesity-related difficulties. The successful candidate will contribute to and be part of a growing clinical psychology service, with emphasis on delivering the best possible care for people in West Wales living with obesity.

You will be working closely with weight management dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners with excellent clinical and communication skills. You will be actively interested and contribute to evidence-based practice and service development. You will be involved in reviewing, auditing, developing and delivering patient care, providing advice, guidance, training and supervision, whilst being supported by the Weight Management Service and the wider Clinical Health Psychology Service within the Health Board.

We are fortunate to have very active clinical and professional networks on an All Wales basis, with direct links with local Universities and service delivery groups.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and friendly team, whilst promoting innovation, research and values based healthcare in everything we do.

The post is advertised at band 7 or 8a depending on experience. If approved at band 7 the candidate will be supported with a development plan to help them develop the skills and attributes for an 8a post.

The Role

QS is seeking a dynamic and progressive Head of Consulting to lead its small but established higher education performance consulting practice. The practice comprises a small, skilled team of experienced higher education experts delivering high quality strategic insight and advice to education institutions and policy makers worldwide.

In addition to taking on the operational management of the existing practice, the new Head of Consulting will be expected to elevate the internal and external visibility of the practice and its excellent work, as well as to actively network in policy circles to identify ways that QS can more strongly contribute its distinctive insights to help universities and their stakeholders best maximise their positive impact.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the development or implementation of higher education strategy or practice leadership experience in a broader consulting context, perhaps in a mainstream consulting firm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Business strategy – drive forward the strategy for the practice, focusing resources on springboard initiatives, in order to support the broader strategy of QS
  • Thought leadership – harnessing and developing QS insights assets to raise the external profile of the practice and the business as experts in institutional performance and higher education trends
  • Practice management – establish/develop monitoring and reporting processes and tools where appropriate. Manage team deployment.
  • Budget control – P&L oversight for the consulting practice.
  • Team development – monitoring talent acquisition demand, overseeing recruitment, identifying learning and development needs and opportunities
  • Business development – determining the pre-sales experience for prospective clients, actively networking to attract engagement interest, supporting the commercial teams in detecting and taking advantage of business opportunities.
  • Customer experience – enhancing the customer experience to convert one-time satisfied customers to long-term partners and champions
  • Ambassadorship – be the credible and inspiring face of the practice, identify key platforms to profile QS insights and the capabilities of the team through high-impact content delivery
  • Product development – channel insights surfaced through close working with HE leaders and influencers into evidence-based feature recommendations for products and services across the QS portfolio
  • Sector expertise – Demonstrate or quickly establish a strong working knowledge of international higher education

Description

The Senior NPI Process and Yield Improvement Engineer is responsible for monitoring, improving, recording, organizing, tracking and presenting the process yield data of Rockley fab partners. It requires close cooperation with the partner teams as well as Rockley process, design, packaging teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

*This list is not all inclusive. Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

  • Partner with design to execute new product introduction at Rockley foundry locations worldwide.  This includes understanding TO, mask delivery and Foundry resources to minimize delays to key new products and improvement programs for existing products.
  • Coordinate and drive change control in all areas from design to finished fab processes.  This includes all processes on Si, SOI, DSOI and III/IV substrates being manufactured in Rockley foundries.  Consultation and participation in change control for packaging, assembly and other organization is expected for continuity.
  • Identify, participate in and/or lead high impact process control activities that result in improvements to safety, quality, delivery, cost, including production yield at fab partners in collaboration with Rockley process team, measurement team, and partner teams.
  • Be responsible for monitoring yield data procedures and outcome at fab partners. This includes ensuring that process control systems and measurement databases are highly available and error resistant, and support filling-in the gaps as needed.
  • Track schedule, cost, risk assessment, and yield of the improvement activities within all fab partners. It includes materials, utilities, and labor. 
  • Lead development and standardization of in-line measurement plans for process monitoring. It includes to train the Rockley team on yield improvement activities, getting their feedback for process improvements, and statistical data control as much as can benefit also the R&D partners. 
  • Be responsible for yield, related to mask ordering, mask scheduling, floor planning, and layout activities. 
  • Review operating conditions for variations and recommend corrective actions, which include: to develop, implement and communicate best practices between fab partners, suppliers, and RP teams. It also includes to implement checklists, guidelines, "lesson learnt" and history documents to capture and record all yield-improvement activities. 
  • Support short loop planning to early assessment of yield issues, in collaboration with Rockley packaging and design teams. 
  • Work closely with internal and external process teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project or minor enhancement specifications, complete with work estimates and forecasted benefits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc in related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with NPI, engineering yield or quality trouble-shooting for semiconductor processing
  • 2+ year experience in manufacturing fabs for photonics applications
  • Process transfer experience preferred
  • Track record of dealing with multiple fab partners, of problem solving, and of yield improvement
  • Frequent travel to Sweden required;
