Bottomline Technologies is seeking an Information Security Systems Engineer (InfoSec) to join its global security team. This position ensures the proper deployment, operation, and maintenance of security programs that provide: patch/vulnerability management, malware/virus protection, and security incident response. The engineer, in partnership with product development and solution delivery teams will identify, evaluate, and implement security controls to continuously improve the organizations security. 

How you’ll contribute:  

  • Actively manage projects and drive security vulnerability remediation efforts across the organization
  • Collaborate with product development and solution delivery teams to provide expertise and support for information security matters
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations function
  • Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, certification, and awareness activities for network and system operations
  • Continuously assess, measure, and monitor information technology risk by performing network and system vulnerability assessments
  • Identify weak or missing security controls and vulnerabilitie
  • Research and evaluate current or emerging security technologies to support cybersecurity initiative
  • Maintain compliance to security policies, standards, procedures
  • Manage cybersecurity compliance activities and implement improvements where needed
  • Responsible for identifying and collecting relevant information security metrics
  • Measure performance indicators of program activities and effectively communicate status to stakeholders
  • Review existing policies and procedures and work with management to keep them updated
  • Support incident response processes
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and be active in the security community
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business units
  • Proactively supports, trains, and motivates less experienced team members
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as required

What will make you successful:

  • Extensive experience working in the FinTech Industry – within an Information Security role
  • Ability to support off-hours, weekends, and holidays if needed in support of incident response
  • Strong knowledge and experience with security patch and vulnerability scanners
  • Administration of Linux and Windows systems, networks, DNS, firewalls, and web servers; Linux administration
  • Experience with log aggregation and SIEM tools
  • Working knowledge of cryptography algorithms and protocols
  • IDS/IPS, traffic collection, correlation, and analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS, OWASP, PCI DSS)
  • Good understanding of FFIEC, GLBA, and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with scripting languages and text manipulation tools; Java Python, RDBMS (SQL, Oracle, Postgres)
  • Strong experience with application servers (i.e. WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, JBoss AS, WebMethods, etc.)
  • Experience working in financial technology, banking, or financial services
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science, IT/MIS, Information Assurance, or equivalent work experience required
  • Active industry recognized security certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, GESC, GCIH, CEH or PMP is preferred
  • Useful techs: Java, Python, C#, SQL, Oracle, Linux Administration

The IT Systems Administrator Role:

  • Liaison with Sub-Contractors, Customer Services/other internal teams on progress and resolution of each Service Order Job
  • Provide information and resolution to invoice queries from the Finance team and or with Sub-Contractors/Suppliers
  • Focus on decreasing costs and while achieving continual service improvement
  • To support the development and implementation of best procurement/business practices
  • Work closely with all internal teams to achieve total customer satisfaction
  • Supporting the operational team with administrative duties and tasks when required

Job Summary:

The Security Architect is responsible for supporting multiple projects and programmes by defining and championing information security solutions. The role will work closely with systems and project engineers, developers, internal / external business stakeholders and project managers within various departments to assess risk and deliver pragmatic, flexible and sustainable security that includes people, process and technology.

  • Provide information security technical consultancy to the business. Champion best practices for architecture and design principles for the use of existing and new information security technologies across internal and customer systems
  • Conduct security business impact analysis and audit for new and existing business applications or IT infrastructure. Provide advice and guidance on the application and operation of physical, procedural and technical security controls (e.g. the key controls in ISO27001 and/or PCI-DSS).
  • Assist the Systems Engineering teams in the design and development of bespoke customer solutions, ensuring solutions fit into the standard set of products the business offers and that they are supportable and clearly documented.
  • Ensure that technical standards for information security fit policy requirements and are maintained, communicated and implemented.
  • Assist engineering and business development teams to clarify customer security requirements and develop security responses for customer bids.
  • Assist development of processes and systems to enable effective security engineering within projects.
  • Participate in design review boards within engineering development processes.

We're looking for our first UK lead on internal IT to set the "in-country" standard for IT support that will underpin the growth of Pax8 in the UK and beyond.

You'll be operating at the heart of our newly combined entities - Wirehive and Pax8, working on prem from our amazing offices in Farnborough and also providing proactive, engaging and people centric support to our site in Bristol acting as the internal IT bridgehead between Denver, USA and the UK.

Tech Day to Day in this role includes: 

  • Ensuring security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
  • Upgrading systems with new releases and models
  • Developing expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Building and maintaining internal tools as well as evaluating new tools with documentation, checklists, guides, etc.
  • Installing and configuring software and hardware
  • Troubleshooting issues and outages
  • Managing network devices and technology tools
  • Setting up accounts and workstations

But we also want all your good human stuff - someone who is "service happy" with great mental processes and a healthy discipline around documentation and checklists so other people can follow your thinking. You'll enjoy autonomy when your US counterparts are offline and you'll carry the same DNA as the rest of our US & UK IT team with a willingness to learn.

Requirements:

You'll be ideal for us if you:

  • Enjoy helping humans and have an authentic service centric mindset
  • Already tinker in your home-lab where you love to build, learn and study
  • Have a thorough understanding of Azure AD, O365 and Exchange Online Administration Basics
  • Ability to administer Anti-SPAM systems, Anti-Phishing, and Endpoint Protection systems
  • Understanding of ITSM Framework
  • Have ServiceNow and JavaScript experience
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management, Cloud Software, Imaging, Windows 10, Linux, DNS, O365 ,and other tools
  • Can create automation scripts with PowerShell and other scripting tools
  • Are resourceful, with problem-solving aptitude and a can-do attitude

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

This position ensures the proper deployment, operation, and maintenance of security programs that provide: patch/vulnerability management, malware/virus protection, and security incident response. The engineer, in partnership with product development and solution delivery teams will identify, evaluate, and implement security controls to continuously improve the organizations security. 

How you’ll contribute:  

  • Actively manage projects and drive security vulnerability remediation efforts across the organization
  • Collaborate with product development and solution delivery teams to provide expertise and support for information security matters
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations function
  • Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, certification, and awareness activities for network and system operations
  • Continuously assess, measure, and monitor information technology risk by performing network and system vulnerability assessments
  • Identify weak or missing security controls and vulnerabilitie
