Job Description

Mitie has a great opportunity for a Dedicated Relief Corporate Security Officer to join the Total Security Management Team.

Dedicated Relief Security Officers must be available to cover various shift patterns as well as being flexible in their approach to working locations and potential changes to working patterns.  

Main Duties

  • The relief security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers – ensuring ID badges are created, allocated and collected when appropriate.
  • As the first point of contact for to all customers and clients, the Security Agents must have geographically aware of their local surroundings.
  • Travel to various corporate client sites to cover sickness, holiday and provide support to the core team when required.
  • Must be able to man the phones, emails, IT systems, CCTV and Alarms, Doors and Car park if need be.
  • The relief security officer must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.
  • Report to the Security Operations Manager – they must record, report and escalate all sightings and arrests on a regular basis.
Qualifications

Person Specification

  • The relief security officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • The relief security officer should be able to work on own initiative.
  • Corporate Security experience.
  • Ability to travel to various sites.
  • Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
  • It is important the Security Officer is calm under pressure.
  • Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
  • Door Supervision or Security Guarding License essential.
  • A Full UK Driving licence is required.

Job Description

Mitie has a great opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join the Total Security Management Team; the Security Supervisor will be based with one of our prestigious customers. This is a permanent role reporting into the Account Manager.

Main Duties

  • To be responsible for the day to day operation of Security.
  • Be the first point of contact for the Security team and deal with day to day matters such as standards of dress, discipline, and conduct are met and adhered to.
  • Assist in on-going training to resident security teams and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to the site procedures and policies including CCTV, access control systems, deliveries and removals, fire alarms and intruder alarms.
  • Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.
  • Assist in review of Security Officers performance and development.
  • To assist in any security / equipment investigations, i.e. thefts, missing items, complaints etc.
  • Provide customer / client liaison as and when required.
  • Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security and shipping personnel.

Mitie has a great opportunity for relief security officers for Harlow and surrounding areas.  We are looking for an experienced security officer to join the team on site,  you will take a lead role on site on a daily basis. Your shift pattern will be discussed at interview with a pay rate of £9.00. You will report into the sites security operation’s manager.

Job Objectives & Responsibilities

You will be expected, as an Security officer to show complete dedication to the role, you will be required to support with covering sites to a high level, there may be occasion where notice cannot be provided to cover last minute absence. You will be responsible for various security requirements of the sites, and maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism.

  • To protect our customer’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes.
  • Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
  • To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

  • Management of access / egress control

  • Conduct search duties at entry points

Key responsibilities as our Security Operative:

Our ideal Security Operative:

  • Officers must have the Security Industry Training Organisation basic qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Officer must have experience in 5* Hotel Security or similar.
  • Must hold a valid FPOs or a valid Close Protection Licence.
  • A background in Military or Police is preferred.
  • Can do attitude with a focus on a 5* customer service.
  • Carry and be capable or using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional Security Operative.
  • Good, clear communication skills essential.
  • Excellent literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English.
  • Possess a good telephone manner.
  • Be computer literate.
