The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantitative Senior Project Manager to join our business.
The role of Quantitative Senior Project Manager is to cost and oversee the set up and management of major and substantial research projects to ensure successful completion within best practices.
This will require working closely with the research team, clients, field partners and other external supplier-partners. The role operates in a matrix structure and in addition to reporting to a Project Director you would also have a dotted line into the research team you are working with. You will also be expected to contribute to company operations processes; providing proactive ideas and plans about improving the efficiency of the project management function and working on projects and supporting operational steering groups.
The role will give you broad exposure and visibility within the company and will require you to have contacts with all research and administrative staff to ensure the success of the initiatives you manage.
We are looking for proactive, positive solutions orientated people who have a determination to drive growth and deliver change. As part our transformation strategy we are in the process of building on our changing supplier relationships and developing end-to-end automation from scripting to visualisation. The role will require an ability to embrace and drive this change within the business.
Working in a fast-paced environment the role requires someone who is adaptable and able to prioritise. We are open to a variety of professional backgrounds and need someone who can deliver across a broad spectrum of projects.
Core responsibilities
Act as an expert to support researchers and other project management team members for methodology and sampling in markets
Act as an escalation point and be seen by the wider business as an expert in their field
Ability to deal with senior stakeholders and have visibility across the team via leading on initiatives, presenting at team meetings, driving efficiencies
Provide costs for new business proposals or existing projects
Ownership and responsibility for project set up and management and assist in the planning of transition of projects to the CMix platform and undertaking their actual transition
Identify opportunities throughout the project lifecycle for improvements and efficiencies. Share these with the teams and provide expertise and guidance as to how to be operationally efficient
Maintain and update databases of recommended field partners and contribute to managing suppliers’ best practice
Be proactive and solutions focused, be able to use own initiative with limited guidance
Mentor and develop more junior members of staff
Drive the use of the H&P intranet as a means of increasing efficiency on projects
Add general value to the operations and research teams
Supporting the wider team with any training and implementing operational initiatives
Experience
Extensive experience in project management in a market research environment, including field set up and management, questionnaire design and change management, schedule management, data processing and charting automation
Experience or involvement in costing projects and budget management is a pre-requisite for this role
Be able to cover for Project Directors in the team during planned or unplanned absence
Excellent communication skills across all areas of the business and levels with an ability to influence others within areas of responsibility
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time while sticking to deadlines and achieving high quality of output
Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and project and time management
Familiar with multiple types of studies, including continuous tracking, pre testing, segmentation, creative development, etc.
Experienced working with a range of methodologies, particularly online but also face to face and telephone
Ability to champion methodological choices with clients and teammates and identify potential pitfalls in clients’ briefs/requests and question those
Previous experience implementing and driving best practice processes within an organisation
Significant experience of and comfort with managing fieldwork and DP suppliers
Ability to liaise professionally with clients, including taking a key role in status meetings, updating the client on fieldwork, timelines, deliverables, etc.
Has a presence in the office; looks for ways to interact with other teams and departments within H&P
