Purpose of Position:

The Research Scientist-level TBD is responsible for executing analytical tasks, including method development activities, for one or more projects to support research and development primarily focused on oligonucleotides. Higher levels be will responsible for independently designing, executing, and reporting analytical tasks including method development activities, for one or more projects to support research and development primarily focused on oligonucleotides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute testing per method or protocol for development, qualification, verification, validation, and transfer of analytical methods
  • Analyze test samples, process data, and report results with minimal errors to support research and development primarily focused on oligonucleotides
  • Provide analytical support to Process Development and Manufacturing
  • Design and perform method development experiments
  • Perform GDP and technical peer review
  • Author technical documentation (e.g. methods, procedures)
  • Provide technical leadership in analytical project meetings
  • Provide training in lab techniques and procedures
  • Plan, track, and execute tasks to deliver project results on time

Job Experience and Technical Skills: This will vary based on the level

  • Degree in Chemistry or related field. MS with 1 years or BA/BS with 2 years of related work experience.
  • Higher level positions will require a degree in Chemistry or related field.
    • PhD with 2 years
    • MS with 4 years
    • BA/BS with 6 years of related work experience.
  • Supervise/manage staff as needed.
  • Operate and troubleshoot KF, U/HPLC instruments
  • Knowledge of undergraduate general and organic chemistry
  • Analytical chemistry knowledge including theory and application of fundamental analytical techniques for identification, purity, and assay
  • Perform algebraic and basic statistical calculations correctly
  • Proficient in technical writing and department-wide presentations
