Responsibilities

Reports to: Production Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Safety Sensitive Positon: Yes
Summary:
To remove finished product from the machines, inspect product to ensure quality specifications have been met and that all packaging requirements have been done according to production work order.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform instructions outlined in the Production Manuals for Production Assistants
+ Operate pallet jacks and fork trucks
+ Assist operators as needed to minimize downtime during cleanups and maintenance
+ Weigh and package rolls according to specifications and instructions provided on work order paperwork
+ Thread Line
+ Use and complete paperwork
+ Understand and follow quality specifications
+ Do Q.A. clean-up
+ Perform housekeeping duties on and around the line
+ Maintain neat and clear aisles for product transfer and safety
+ Adherence to company policies and procedures
Safety Commitment:
+ Takes reasonable care for their own health and safety
+ Takes reasonable care for the health and safety of others
+ Authorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted event
+ Understands and actively participates in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives
Qualifications
Requirements:
+ Must know how to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., if over 50 lbs. requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift
+ Must be able to stand for 12 hours
+ Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shift including holidays and weekends
+ Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
+ Able to work in a fast paced environment
Physical Requirements:
+ The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time);if over 50 lbs, requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift.
+ Must be able to stand for 12 hours
+ Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shift including holidays and weekends
+ Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
+ Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday
+ Talking to communicate with others
+ Hearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
+ Using arms to grasp, handle, and type
+ Walking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product

This position requires that the employee be able to work

Bill Knight Collision Repair in Tulsa, OK is looking for a Production Assistant to contribute to the overall vehicle repair production by carrying out tasks necessary to ensure that performance goals are met or exceeded. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Collision Manager to keep vehicle repairs moving efficiently through the repair process
  • Shuttle vehicles or customers to desired locations off the lot as necessary
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Take action to stay apprised of details of each individual vehicle repair and what is required to complete repair process efficiently.
  • Maintain production tracking in real time
  • Assist with organization and cleanliness of shop

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work on feet for assigned work shift and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting and stretching are required to perform daily job duties
  • Experience with automotive repair and/or parts is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and work well in a process driven environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
