Company is looking for an expression of interest from an experienced Principal Designer to be based in Manila Philippines with some travel to Australia (quarterly). Your role will include
To provide technical road design support to the local (GEC) Highway Engineers for the delivery of the road design component of projects compliant with Company’ quality systems;
Manage, plan, resource and complete the assigned delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines;
Resolving complex technical design issues;
Assisting the Project Manager in determining the resources required for a project plan including elements suitable for outsourcing;
Ensuring the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project;
Ensuring that the road design component of the project is delivered within agreed budgets and delivery dates;
Participating directly in the delivery of projects when required;
Assist in training and development of road design skills in the GEC;
Maintaining ongoing communication with relevant Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients when required, to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project;
Ability to manage and communicate with others remotely;
Ensuring the compliance with Company and Australian design standards;
Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design; and
To provide direction and leadership to the local project road design team;
Qualifications
Who are we looking for
You will have
Suitable degree and/or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering;
10+ years’ experience in a project delivery environment with clear participation on the delivery of major projects/motorways in an Australian context;
Experience delivering projects for TfNSW or other Australian road authorities (VICRoads, QLD TMR, MainRoads WA);
Proficiency in Bentley MX Road; previous experience in Bentley Open Roads preferred;
In depth knowledge of civil design standards, including Austroads, RMS supplements and other relevant standards.
Willingness to relocate to the Philippines for a period of two (2) years or more.
Australian Work Rights, as this role requires travel to/from Australia.

• Perform engineering design, coordination with design staff with plan production, and
construction administration on projects.
• Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education,
and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous
experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
• Organizes multiple tasks and completes them in an orderly fashion.
• Effectively communicates and coordinates with the Project Engineer and other PEC Divisions in
order to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
• Make formal presentations to organizations, private industry, and government agencies.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
• Prepares quantity take-offs for use in construction cost estimates and engineering fee
estimates.
• Reviews project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam; Intern Engineer (I.E.) Credentials are expected.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Meet and understand critical deadlines through efficient time management and effective
communication.
