Due to consistent growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work heavily involved in our core business of civil highways engineering, we have an opportunity in our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) in Manila, Philippines to continue its growth and development to help the delivery of projects in Australia.  You could have the opportunity to be part of concept design and detailed design projects and be part of one of the most advanced teams in digital engineering for road design in Australia.  Company is looking for an expression of interest from an experienced Principal Designer to be based in Manila Philippines with some travel to Australia (quarterly). Your role will include
To provide technical road design support to the local (GEC) Highway Engineers for the delivery of the road design component of projects compliant with Company’ quality systems;
Manage, plan, resource and complete the assigned delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines;
Resolving complex technical design issues;
Assisting the Project Manager in determining the resources required for a project plan including elements suitable for outsourcing;
Ensuring the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project;
Ensuring that the road design component of the project is delivered within agreed budgets and delivery dates;
Participating directly in the delivery of projects when required;
Assist in training and development of road design skills in the GEC;
Maintaining ongoing communication with relevant Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients when required, to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project;
Ability to manage and communicate with others remotely;
Ensuring the compliance with Company and Australian design standards;
Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design; and
To provide direction and leadership to the local project road design team;

Qualifications

Who are we looking for
You will have
Suitable degree and/or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering;
10+ years’ experience in a project delivery environment with clear participation on the delivery of major projects/motorways in an Australian context;
Experience delivering projects for TfNSW or other Australian road authorities (VICRoads, QLD TMR, MainRoads WA);
Proficiency in Bentley MX Road; previous experience in Bentley Open Roads preferred;
In depth knowledge of civil design standards, including Austroads, RMS supplements and other relevant standards.
Willingness to relocate to the Philippines for a period of two (2) years or more.
Australian Work Rights, as this role requires travel to/from Australia.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Perform engineering design, coordination with design staff with plan production, and
construction administration on projects.
• Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education,
and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous
experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
• Organizes multiple tasks and completes them in an orderly fashion.
• Effectively communicates and coordinates with the Project Engineer and other PEC Divisions in
order to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
• Make formal presentations to organizations, private industry, and government agencies.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
• Prepares quantity take-offs for use in construction cost estimates and engineering fee
estimates.
• Reviews project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards. 

Qualifications: 
• A minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam; Intern Engineer (I.E.) Credentials are expected.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Meet and understand critical deadlines through efficient time management and effective
communication.

About the role

The primary responsibility of the role is to efficiently and accurately prepare drawings to enter into a building contract with the customer and to obtain a building permit. The role requires an understanding of CAD software to prepare drawings and an understanding of contract documentation, preconstruction procedures, construction techniques and procedures and all statutory requirements.

Summary:  Works with our team of Engineers to convert designs into technical plans.  Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and setting up production methods.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
• Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)

As a Horizontal Construction Engineer in the Army National Guard, you’ll handle the heavy lifting to help your crew succeed. You’ll operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other massive equipment to clear the way for construction.
Your responsibilities will include leveling earth for runways and roadbeds, clearing, excavating, and digging areas of construction sites, spreading fill material, transporting heavy construction equipment with a tractor-trailer, moving heavy building materials with cranes, and assisting in performance of combat engineer missions.

Job training for Horizontal Construction Engineers consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

This position exists primarily to oversee and/or manage Geotechnical, CMT, and/or Environmental project activities and prepare high level analytical project reports. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and may be tasked with teaching, scheduling, coordinating and overseeing the activities of Field Professionals and Technicians.

The work requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion in handling specific details and activities.  The incumbent is expected to work both independently and within a team environment with minimum supervision. 

1. Evaluate, discuss and understand client needs and prepare subsequent proposals.
2. Coordinate and manage routine geotechnical, CMT and/or environmental project activities, including staff or field operations and/or selected lab activities.
3. Inspect work and/or troubleshoot field quality control issues and make recommendations for corrections.
4. Accurately correlate basic soil properties with field data and classification test results.
5. Prepare high level analytical geotechnical, CMT and/or environmental reports for appropriate and timely distribution.
6. Track budgets & project financials for accuracy; invoice clients appropriately.
7. Maintain positive business relationships with clients, government officials, contractors, etc.
8. Participate in professional meetings and/or business development functions as needed.
