This team delivers capital works to improve the condition of the Barnet highways infrastructure. The team are responsible for identifying, designing and implementing all planned capital improvements to the borough highway and transport assets. The post holder will be responsible for the asset management of the highways structures, maintaining and improving the integrity of the assets in accordance with legislative and best practice guidelines.

To undertake and commission the asset management of the highways structures including the Bridge Assessment Programme.
To develop programmes of works to ensure effective management of the highways structures, and identify and seek relevant funding and resources.
To provide professional, technical support and advice in relation to highways structures to support the delivery of the Council’s statutory duties and corporate priorities.
To lead the successful delivery of highways engineering structural schemes and programmes, from inception through to final completion, including commissioning consultants and contractors as appropriate.
To undertake Approval in Principle procedures on behalf of the Council (as Technical Approval Authority) for the assessment, modification and new construction of any type of Council owned or private structure on public roads.

Primat is looking for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join one of the leading Petrochemical companies based in Teeside for a 6-month duration.
The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will provide concept, FEED and detailed design services for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities to provide an inherently safe, economical and sustainable solution that meets client demands.
In onshore applications, this typically includes large scale refineries and gas terminals and in offshore environments it involves topsides structural systems such as fixed jacket structures, semi-submersible and other floating platforms. Discipline functions range from intelligent modelling, analysis and design of structural systems based in harsh environments through to weight control and engineering.
A Project Structural Sngineer is required to join this cutting edge dynamic structural consultancy. They have a lovely brand new office space a short walk from Wimbledon station.
The firm is a medium sized practice, having less than 20 staff; very busy and in the process of expanding. They work on the design of commercial, residential and education buildings, both new build construction and refurbishment. Their projects range in value, with an average of 10-15 million, however, the company have worked on projects with a value of 120 million!
The use of 3D analysis tools and 3D modelling are adopted as standard for complex problem solving to ensure even the most bespoke structures can be documented in the best possible way to simplify the construction phase.
You need to be a well rounded structural engineer with several years of varied UK buildings design experience. You need to be used to dealing with architects and clients too so excellent communication skills are essential.
