We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team.  The Volunteer Coordinator is a member of the interdisciplinary team who is responsible for representing the volunteers and advocating for volunteer services, identifying needs for volunteers, recruiting volunteers, and assigning volunteers with patients/families.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or four years related experience
• Healthcare/hospice or volunteer administration experience preferred
• Previous volunteer experience preferred
• Must be able to operate computer, facsimile equipment, copier and cell phone
• Ability to apply knowledge of the special needs of hospice patient and families
• Sensitivity to the impact of life and death issues faced by individuals with terminal illness
• CPR Certification
• Current automobile insurance and valid driver's license

Overview:

The part-time Community Specialist staff member works closely with the Development Coordinator to design and execute a comprehensive development strategy for Saline County. This position will solicit gifts for program support, CAMCAC’s main event in Saline County, Rally, and other events that may be created. This position must create and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors and volunteers, as well as manage and write grants. This position performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience:Minimum three to five years of successful fundraising experience, demonstrate knowledge of the principles and best practices associated with major gift fundraising, personable presence, demeanor and the desire to work face-to-face with the external community, including volunteers and donor prospects, outstanding commitment to customer service. Experience in finance and grant writing/managing.
• Required Education: Bachelors Degree
• Preferred Experience:Demonstrate success in soliciting major gifts (gifts of $10,000+), experience securing philanthropic support for a hospital or health system.
