Required for September 2021, although an earlier start date can be considered, a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to teach Product Design and Technology within a large and well-resourced Design & Technology Department. Situated in a recently built area of the school, the department enjoys outstanding facilities. The subject is respected and enjoyed by students and consequently there is excellent take-up for GCSE. 

Nunnery Wood High School is oversubscribed and enjoys an excellent reputation in the region. Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer

To meet our ambition of delivering an exciting and outstanding educational experience, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer who has the skills and knowledge of the current industry to pass on to the next generation of carpenters. Ideally we are seeking a candidate with a proven record of high success and a strong desire to encourage learners to reach their full potential. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate students through the use of varied teaching and learning strategies. Experience of delivery in other trades, such as basic plumbing would be advantageous.

The post holder will be required to teach on a range of Carpentry and Joinery courses - up to and including Level 3. Applicants will need to demonstrate good knowledge of the practical and theoretical aspects of the trade as well as Health and Safety and the principals of the construction industry.

The post may also include conducting onsite apprenticeship reviews and workplace assessments at varied locations to our growing provision of Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices, so knowledge of the skills required and the ability to travel is essential.

Our construction department is a thriving area in the college and we are looking for applicants who will work to develop and embrace exciting and innovative modes of delivery both onsite and remotely. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or DTLLS or industry experienced applicants who are willing to undertake an appropriate teaching qualification.
