In-Play Sports Trader

Location – Wigan, Greater Manchester

The Group employs over 300 staff and has two principal divisions – a B2C operation, the pre-eminent sports spread betting company, and a rapidly growing B2B operation which supplies real-time pricing and sports trading capabilities to sportsbooks around the globe.

Due to expansion of our B2C and B2B offering we are currently looking for an In Play Sports Trader to join the Football trading team in our growing Wigan office.

The Person

Ideally we would like someone with;

• Excellent attention to detail
• Be a strongly motivated self-starter able to work reliably without supervision
• A basic knowledge of odds and sports betting markets.
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft applications and Excel in particular.
• An eagerness to gain experience and forge a career in sports trading.

The Role
The lifecycle of a sports event generally follows the following sequence:
Event creation > Pre-match pricing > Market Monitoring > In-play trading > Settlement > Post event analysis/database records.
This role is specifically targeted at ‘in-play trading’ and ‘market monitoring’ but encompasses all stages of the market life-cycle including quality assurance at each stage of the process.
We need someone to;

• Administer a personal trading schedule to maximise availability for in-play events
• Prepare trading models for in-play events and accurate entry of pricing variables using the underlying market as a basis
• Accurate manipulation of trading models and monitoring of market conditions to maintain pricing pre-match for both in-play and non-live events
• Accurate entry of in-play match data for in-play events
• Accurate entry of settlement criteria
• Have awareness of wholesale client requirements depending on sport/jurisdiction/market liquidity
• Analyse and record trading performance for future reference and performance management

What we’re looking for

• Ability to work a rota of shifts flexible to the business requirements.

Extra marks if you have

• Knowledge of spread betting (and the relationship between spread and fixed odds trading)
• Knowledge of fixed odds market and the principles involved in pricing and trading sports events

• The candidate must have a UK driving licence,
• NVQ level 3 in joinery
• Ability to carry out patch plastering, tiling, basic plumbing.

• Input any deals done by the Client Executives onto the NB Trader

• As well as inputting it may also be necessary to call the Market Makers

• Each day a spreadsheet is produced of all the deals done that day and this is given to the contract input staff to be completed the same day

• Each morning any discrepancies from previous day must be resolved this involves speaking with the Market Makers

• Clients may also ring to give direct instruction to buy or sell

• It is envisaged that over time the candidate would develop to be able to also advise clients

• Maintain system recording where clients have placed limits to buy or sell

Successful candidate for this Stockbroker Assistant position will display the following:

• Minimum Level 4 RDR compliant for example CISI Investment Advice Diploma also consider candidates with
• Higher levels of qualifications also considered (Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management or Level 7 Chartered Wealth Management)
• Experience of Dealing for a stockbroker preferred
• Experience of NB Trader or Proquote

A Stockbroker Assistant position for a Private Client Stockbroker based in the city centre of Manchester. This role will support the Client Executives, clients, market makers and the wider business.

• Telephone prospecting to existing network to arrange business meetings

• Contacting clients and setting up meetings, either within an office environment or in clients' homes or business premises
• Conducting in-depth reviews of clients' monetary circumstances, current provision and future aims
• Provide across a range of areas such as Financial Planning, Investments, Accounting and Tax, Estate Planning, Risk Management and Retirement Planning.
• Analysing information and preparing plans best suited to individual clients’ requirements
• Completing a client’s attitude to risk analysis
• Researching the marketplace and providing clients with information on new and existing products and services
• Designing strategies
• Assisting clients to make informed decisions
• Reviewing and responding to clients changing needs and  circumstances
• Communicating with other relevant professionals in relation a client’s circumstances
• Keeping up-to-date with legal, taxation and regulatory legislation
• Managing and updating client portfolios - and producing reports
• Liaising with clients in relation to changes to legislation that may affect their savings, investments or plans
• Meeting the regulatory aspects of the role

• The capability to explain complex information simply and clearly in order to provide tailored and personalised services to meet each client’s goals and life situation
