If you are ready for your next challenge we have an exciting opportunity within our Swift Development team, as the Swift Programme Delivery Lead.
Who we need
The successful candidate for this senior role will be able to demonstrate experience in leading the delivery of multiple, interlaced and complex projects, as part of a programme, in a fast moving technology environment, utilising the best practices in lifecycle and governance.
The Swift Programme Delivery Lead has the responsibility of ensuring, across the Swift programme, that there is a very high level of diligence applied to key project elements including planning, budgeting, risk and issue management and reporting. This will ensure that the programme is delivered to time and cost as well as quality. They will be responsible for managing the appropriate resources, over the complete lifecycle, within the Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) programme portfolio. The successful candidate will be expected to be continuously evolving the processes together with the delivery systems and methodologies to ensure that delivery efficiency is optimised.
The Swift Programme Delivery lead will also Manage, Coach and Mentor the Swift Project Delivery Leads that are responsible for delivering the individual projects within the Swift Programme.
About the team
The Swift team provide public transport ticketing options, using smartcards, on all buses, trains and trams across the West Midlands. One in three public transport journeys are made with Swift each year and this is increasing continually. Swift has its current and future customers' requirements at its heart.
The team are always looking for innovative ways to increase, even further, the simplicity of obtaining and using Swift. The Swift team have worked with worldwide partners, including Google, in a UK first, to embed Swift tickets within Google Pay so customers do not need a card at all. Increasingly customers are looking for a seamless transport solution and Swift is already piloting acceptance for parking, bike hire, taxis and even access to leisure centres. These solutions will be rolled out even further in the future and will help ensure that public transport is increasingly seen as the optimum customer choice.

Delivery Station Manager Responsibilities:

Delivery Station Manager basic Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualification or equivalent.
  • Direct management experience, comprising both a salaried workforce, hourly and agency strong workforce, in a logistics, manufacturing, engineering, production or distribution environment.
  • Experience with planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and lean techniques.
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Strong analytical capability; track record of digging into data and finding solutions for a variety of operational problems.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

Title: Logistics Co Ordinator

Based in our UK HQ, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all national and international collections and deliveries - courier and freight.

As the Logistics Coordinator, you will have a good understanding of global transport routes, customs procedures, and international trade.

Duties & Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Log & track all shipments.
  • Book transport companies and send appropriate documentation in good time so as not to delay dispatch.
  • Timely and accurate completion of import and export customs entries and declarations
  • Data input the daily collections, create the delivery notes within Factory Master and print the daily delivery manifest, tracking emails and pull necessary paperwork.
  • Monitor the daily log and action/solve any issues and escalate/report to senior management if required.
  • Advise the Production Control, Sales and Account Managers regarding the best route for shipping based on size, fragility, value and destination.
  • Advise Sales Production Control & Account Managers of shipping quotes/prices in a timely manner.
  • Support other departments as and when necessary.
  • Any other reasonable request


THE PERSON:

  • Previous experience in an export/shipping/logistics role
  • ITOPS qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of EU and non-EU import and export processes
  • Producing and dealing with international shipping documentation
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment - working to deadlines and changes.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Be competent in use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team, and the ability to react to short notice changes to suit operational requirements.

Who we need

The successful candidate for this senior role will be able to demonstrate experience in leading the delivery of multiple, interlaced and complex projects, as part of a programme, in a fast moving technology environment, utilising the best practices in lifecycle and governance.

The Swift Programme Delivery Lead has the responsibility of ensuring, across the Swift programme, that there is a very high level of diligence applied to key project elements including planning, budgeting, risk and issue management and reporting. This will ensure that the programme is delivered to time and cost as well as quality. They will be responsible for managing the appropriate resources, over the complete lifecycle, within the Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) programme portfolio. The successful candidate will be expected to be continuously evolving the processes together with the delivery systems and methodologies to ensure that delivery efficiency is optimised.

The Swift Programme Delivery lead will also Manage, Coach and Mentor the Swift Project Delivery Leads that are responsible for delivering the individual projects within the Swift Programme.

The Swift team provide public transport ticketing options, using smartcards, on all buses, trains and trams across the West Midlands. One in three public transport journeys are made with Swift each year and this is increasing continually. Swift has its current and future customers' requirements at its heart.

The team are always looking for innovative ways to increase, even further, the simplicity of obtaining and using Swift. The Swift team have worked with worldwide partners, including Google, in a UK first, to embed Swift tickets within Google Pay so customers do not need a card at all. Increasingly customers are looking for a seamless transport solution and Swift is already piloting acceptance for parking, bike hire, taxis and even access to leisure centres. These solutions will be rolled out even further in the future and will help ensure that public transport is increasingly seen as the optimum customer choice.
